Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I have a NoviTech shredder that I purchased from Target about 2 years ago. The shredder just stopped working in the middle of shredding bills. I only had 2 sheets in there. It will go in reverse but makes a loud noise and will not shred anything. I don't see anything jammed or broken, so what do I do?
I've been trying to find a customer service number for NoviTech for over an hour with no luck. Are they out of business or bankrupt? Have they became another name, or company? Please someone help, I would be so appreciaitve, and please include a customer service number if available. Thanks
These are easy to take apart. Should be 4 screws maybe six. One might be behind a label. Just pull it apart and unclog the gears or cutters. Be careful not to cut yourself. Take pictures after shell is apart. That way you can unclog and put back together.

your blades have either become dull or have spread due to a jam or a broken mount on cutter if your in warranty contact manufacturer if not time to buy a new machine.

You might have broken the actual mechanism enabling it to move forward. To be honest, your easiest solution would be to buy another shredder rather than attempt repair if this is the case, they're so cheap now.

OK lets try.
You likely have a photo sensor that detects the paper and it is dirty.
It is likely covered with paper dust (hopefully only on the outside)
Locate the sensor and wipe it off or just wipe the entire throat area.

simply try resetting the machine. unplugging it waiting for about 30 seconds then plugging it back in, also is the unit mounted properly on the unit? It might be one of the gears that is not broken...if you have a warranty now would be a good time to call them as they will fix or replace the part for the unit.

I was having the same problem with my shredder. I called
customer service; I was informed it was the gears on the inside of my shredder.
My shredder is no longer under warranty. However, she is mailing me out the
part I need for a small fee. Their customer service number is 1-800-327-8508 in
