Hi, I have just bought an old NC4010 and wonder if i can buy an DVD-rewriter slim type and install it in my PC or buy an external one. And which one is best to USB connect to it.?Thamks

There are no drivers for the GP08NU6R. When you plug it in, your computer should pop up with a generic driver to make the DVD work. If the computer is not recognizing the drive when you plug it in to the back of the computer, then there is something wrong with the unit itself. Try an new cable.
Both the LG GE20 Super Multi External DVD Rewriter & the LG GP08 Super Multi External Slim Portable DVD Rewriter are Mac compatible.They both use USB 2.0 interface to connect to the computer.
The second battery would replace the cd/dvd drive in that slot. Obviously you would lose the ability to play cds/dvds..The drive is easy to remove -just push on the button to the right and then pull out the drive. Hope this helps..Michael
