I am getting static out of all speakers in my Denon AVR-682 Home Theater system even at low volume. Connections and speakers are all good. Where do I start to look internally for a fix?

Static could mean a few things.

Magnets on or near (tube TV's) the system could disrupt the signal.

Try plugging the speakers in one at a time with music going to the AUX in. Run through all your settings to make sure that nothing is abnormal.

If it's plugged into a powerstrip, try plugging it into your wall outlet.

I would change your setting on your receiver to digital. its probably on analog. look for a button that says that. You might have to change your input have a look at the rear and see if it says, DVD optical or CD and choose that input.

Page 10. The S-302 uses a proprietary D-Sub25 system cable to the DSW-S302 subwoofer. Don't know if or why it has more than 2 active conductors. The other speakers have removable cable ends so they might work just fine.

Take a clue from the bare wire speaker connections on a speaker not matching RCA connectors. RCA is not for feeding +/- speaker terminals on REAL audio equipment.

The Denon requires an active (self-amplified) subwoofer which it feeds a specialized Low Frequency Line Level Pre Out signal.

Disassembling the parts of HTS and reassigning them to other makes and models is unwise and unpredictable electrically and sound-wise.

Check a few things first to narrow this down a bit. Disable the surround processing. If this clears up that channel, then the problem is in the processing area. If the static remains, vary the volume. Does the static change volume too? If so, then the problem is in the beginning stages of the pre-amp section and is likely a transistor or two breaking down. The parts for this would be in the $5 range. This would probably be considered a "major' repair becaue of the time required to hunt down the defective part.

The noise is in the pre-amp stages of the Denon AVR. It might be caused by bad capacitors.
