SOURCE: Check paper tray - reload paper

Your paper sensor actuator arm is most likely broken or out of position, or you may have a dirty sensor if you are in a dusty environment. If you look in the machine with the tray out, you should see a small (usually black) piece of plastic hanging down. You can also take the toner and drum cartridge out and turn it on its back to get a better look. If it's not there, it's probably broken off.

SOURCE: Brother MFC 8220 has a red ligth with an error

I had the same issue, but it was a little more serious. The Black Lever, which is part of the 'Paper Tray Empty' sensor, had been twisted so hard, that the flag for the Beam-Of-Light sensor was out of position. To the left of the lever is a small black cover. I took out the screw holding it place, and inside was a small PCB with the BOL mounted to it. I moved it down, so that the 'flag' could swing back into position, pointing towards the rear of the machine. I put the PCB back, and screwed the cover back on. The lever then moved up and down with ease. Putting the full paper tray back in, and turning on the machine, the Red Light Error was no more.

Paper light blinking, but is full of paper. I turned it off for a day, reloaded the paper. No luck. Can you help.

Paper light flashing could mean several things on this machine.

There could be a paper jam in the machine. Open the front cover remove the drum and toner and look in the machine. Open the back cover and look for a Jam as well.

Try putting a piece of paper in the manual feed tray which is right above the paper tray, sometimes on certain documents the margins are too big and asks to go into the manual feed slot.

How do I install adding machine paper roll

Slide off the upper cover of the calculator, and cut across the paper roll to form a clean end.
If you are mounting the roll externally (outside of the back of the calculator), then look for a slot in the rear of the calculator, which will accept the paper. Feed the end of the paper through the rear slot, and then into the internal feed slot, and hold the [FEED] key. After that, you can flip the arm back to mount the roll and replace the upper cover.
If you want to place the roll inside of the calculator, then you need to feed from the bottom of the roll into the internal feed slot, and hold the [FEED] key. After you are finished, replace the upper cover.

Don't have a manual; have pulled the top off but can't figure out exactly how the paper should go in.

Show paper jam what do i do?? But no paper or anything is there.

I'm assuming that the printer will not print and error message displays on the computer. Also, the "Attention light" ( triangle shaped icon by light on right side of printer) at the top of the control panel blinks, and the Ready light ( light just below the Attention) is off.
Solution
If you see any loose paper bits remove them check the paper tray, the priority feed slot, and the output bin.. Even if you do NOT see any paper particles do these steps.
  1. Open the top access door,It flips up and then remove the toner cartridge. Try to do this in a dimly lit room, and cover the cartridge with paper, to try to reduce it's exposure to light.
    2. It is at this point you can remove paper from the inside, if you see any bits. Otherwise place cartridge back in. and close cover.
  2. Replace the cartridge, and then close the top access door.
  3. RESET the printer
By pressing the power switch on the back of the printer, turn it OFF.. Then turn it back ON

Then reload the paper into the tray.

Please let me know if this solution is helpful, and rate the reply.

Thank you !
