My Toshiba has a picture but no sound. I have tested all of the outputs and there is no sound at any of them either. I do not have a headphone jack on the front or back of the TV. Does it sound like the same problem with the amp?

I've checked, rechecked and rechecked again the volume, the mute button, the cable leading to the satellite connection...I can access all satellite channels my heart desires, but there is no sound coming from the box!! I'm very frustrated!

    Thanks

CT-32HL15. Never had any issues until now. I turned on the TV and no audio, checked all channels. different antennas and cables, called Panasonic and performed a system reset, applied outboard speakers, re-checked system settings, visable audio bar goes all the way up but still no audio. Placed another Sanyo TV in its place and now have audio. Any help would be appreaciated. I'm still paying on it.

Most TV sets have an RCA output (that's the Yellow for video and white or red for autdio). You might want to try connecting a small speaker of about 8 ohms to either the red or white connector. With the volume set to midpoint, connect the two wires from the speaker as follows:
1. Center of the RCA and
2. Metal shield of the RCA

Be careful to keep the exposed speaker wires short and just touching the metal connectors of the RCA socket. If you hear audio from the speaker then it's confirmation that the audio power amplifier within the set has failed. This test is possible because the RCA output and the internal speaker are driven from different lines. Another possible thing to do is to enter the service mode of the TV (you must specify the TV brand and model number to get help on it) and check that the sound settings are optimal.

Will the LED backlights glow even when one LED is not working?when i switch ON tv,the toshiba logo displayed for a second and then it goes off.Flash light test on black screen shows images though.

I don't know your TV but are you sure that it is an "LED" TV? If not, it may be an "LCD" TV which is a bit different. An "LED" TV uses Light Emitting Diodes to illuminate the individual pixels or PIcture ELementS. If it is an "LCD" TV, the picture works more like an electronic digital watch. The picture is produced within the screen and uses a florescent tube on the bottom and side to back light the screen. If you can see the picture with a flashlight, I suspect that it is an "LCD" type. If it was an "LED" TV, and it didn't light up, the LED's that make up the pixels wouldn't be firing and you wouldn't be seeing a picture even with a flashlight. Just like any florescent light tube, these "LCD" back light tubes will dim with age until they eventually fail. If the Toshiba logo lights and goes out, this sounds like the bulbs or their high voltage drivers are failing. Good luck.

Sound but no picture

It sounds like it might be the picture tube. I'm not a T.V. repair person but I'm just going by past experience.

Picture goes off and on...

Most likely your Cathode Ray Tube or CRT is going bad. That model number reflects an older TV. What you are describing is a fairly common problem for that television. If you bump the TV and it improves or gets worse then you know there may be a short.. Either way, I would recommend that you use our Premium Service or use our online resources to find a repair person near you. Good luck.

No picture

unfortunitly sound is one circuit ,,while all the rest makes a picture. hearing a bang could mean a capacitor exploded, your fly blew up..or even you lost a tube. you need a tech. good luck
