SOURCE: We have a model VP1600E Propane Space Heater

Hi there,

Not sure I can help but will try. Sounds like you have a blockage in the pipe or jet and when it heats up it is choking. Best way to clean Propane and/or Gas heaters is to blow compressed air through the pipe. You may be able to just blow the air down the pilot light and main jet and it could fix the problem and clear the jet.

If not you will need to pull off the covers to expose the piping and look for the pipe going to the jet or pilot and if you can undo the pipe and blow compressed air through it. You may find a bit of dirt or carbon is causing the blockage. If you undo any pipes make sure you tighten them back up. Hope this solves your problem.

Bryan

SOURCE: My glo-warm propane heater keeps shutting off automatically-pilot and all.

Clean the pilot and if that does not help replace the thermocouple. Also make sure you have correct ventilation to the room as that can also cause this type of heater to shut down.

I want to connect the unit to the main propane

First of all I am only concerned with your safety when I ask you to only have a qualified service tech install this heater for you. PROPANE is very dangerous if you aren't well trained in the operation/installation of gas fired equipment.Natural gas isn't quite as dangerous as it is lighter than air and will dissipate easier. Propane is heavier than air and will pool in the lowest spaces and collect there. To answer your question, yes most regulator can be adjusted, but again only by a qualified service tech because he needs to adjust the gas pressure to the equipment rated gas pressure specs. Again I am only concerned for your safety.

I have Legacy ventless propane heater 15,000btu.

Try to take pilot assembly apart and clean real good. This will work most of the time. If it does not work for you, you will need to replace the gas valve. It's expensive but I'm about positive that cleaning it will fix it. Gas burns dirty and after a couple seasons a scale builds up that causes this problem. It's pretty common and nothing to worry about after it's cleaned. Good luck.

Seems like the valve is not opening up fully or the adjustment is out of adjustment. Try adjusting the flame.

How long will one pound propane tank last

The 16.4 oz propane bottle contains 1.02 pounds of propane.
1.02 lbs propane equals 16.320 oz
16.320 oz equals 22.032 BTU’s.
The RMC-8001SS has two settings, maximum and minimum
The Max setting is rated at 8,000 BTU hour.
22.032 divided by 8,000 equals 2.754 or 2-3/4 hours
The Min setting is rated at 4,500 BTU hour.
22.032 divided by 4,500 equals 4.896 or 4.8 hours

One 16.4 ounce bottle will burn 22.032 BTU’s @8,000 BTU’s per hour for a period of approximately 2-3/4 hours and @ 4,500 BTU’s per hour for a period of approximately 4.8 hours.
