Question about IBM ThinkPad R50e Notebook
I have IBM THINKPAD R50e Notebook, i am using it for the last 3 yrs and never came with any problems, now i have came up with a problem, recently my collegue used my lappy for some work on internet in her hone and got virus attaced, due to that it affected my "Show Hidden Folder" which is not working.
So i got a tip from a wesite(i dont remember the name of the site) that by repairing the os all default setting works fine.
so anyone who can guide me, would be great
Put your winxp cd in the drive, Boot your lappy with the winxp cd, after the lappy restart, you will get to a screen wher you have to select new installation, dont press the R on this screen as this will take you to the recovery console, then press F8 to agree to the EULA. on the next screen select R which is for reinstalling your windowsxp installation. the rest will be done by the installation, the installation will ask for user input for particular setting like regional settings, keyboard setting, network setting, have the details before hand.
You may have to update your Windows with updates released after the cd was published.
You may have to reinstall a few softwares also.
Kindly POST back with your results.
