Depends what type bobbin you are using and the machine.

Was just told today to use the plastic bobbins that have the sides slightly angled and smooth. The METAL ones with holes have a core that is out too far and the thread catches on it as it passes over the bobbin.

The bobbin won't stay in place

Your bobbin is too short. The correct bobbin must be even with the bobbin case. If it is the bobbin case that is moving around then you must adjust the inner rotary hook bracket assy. It must allow the thread to move between the corner (near screw) and the bobbin casing. Rotate the hand wheel towards you to make sure the thread fits between the corner and the casing. Make it as tight as possible without a snag taking place.

The bobbin case keeps popping the bobbin up when trying to sew. How do you fix this problem?

Hi Kathy it sounds like maybe something is in/under your bobbin case. If you have a manual it should show you how to take the bobbin case out and clean it. Hope this helps

My bobbin keeps popping out. There is a small hole under the bobbin casing. I pulled what appeared to be a wick out of there. It was frayed on the end and I thought it was part of my tension problem. Is...

Hi, the wick will not interfere with your tension, it is there to oil the hook shaft.

If you e-mail me at dupina@mweb.co.za i will send you the instructions and pictures on the bobbin case settings. Take special note of the retaining bracket, plate spring position and the Reverse rotation stopper. It sometimes happens that the reverse rotation stopper bends upwards, allowing the bobbin case to move underneath it. Press it slightly down to prevent this.

check upper tension it may be to tight
thread may be hanging up in bobbin area-clean bobbin case area for lint or loose threads

My machine seems to jump alot and the underneath stitches are just tying itself into lots of knots.

Is it just the bobbin that is jumping? This will happen if you have the bobbin in upside down. Both sides look the same, but you want to make sure the bobbin will turn in the same direction as the little arrow on the metal right by the bobbin slot. If you goof, the bobbin will keep popping up and down and you'll get knots.

Bobbin case is popping out, and machine is birdnesting

Usually when this happens the bobbin is in wrong, replace it make sure the thread is going out the right way, make sure there is no lint or small pieces of thread around or underneath the bobbin area. Make sure you thread it with the foot up. Also make sure you are usng the right bobbin for the machine. They can easy get mxed up.
