This is most likely due to a failed Pause / Play switch and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repairedby a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Hi, It depends upon the type of card which you are using and the type of device in which you are using the card.
Remove the card from the device and check for any small switch/knob which causes the card in read-only mode. If nothing is present, then try connecting your card to a computer using a card reader and try to format the card.

There should be a manual eject button. You know like on CD-ROM's there was a small whole for a paperclip to fit into, there should be one on that camera. This will eject manual, and becareful the tape might be caught on the head.

Loading unit problem is a common mechanical problem in camcorders. To remedy the problem, trained tech need to disassemble the mechanical system around the loading and replace few broken gears (plastics) and adjust it. Repair cost may run close to half of the new camcorder. If you really got to repair this camera for some sentimental reason or for special needs otherwise better to invest the repair charge into a new camcorder.
