The volume icon disappeared

At the bottom of your screen where all the icons are visible you should see an icon that looks like a pyramid. When you pass your mouse over it 'show hidden icons' should appear. Click that icon then click 'customize' to set icon behaviors.

My computer doesnot support to install and run yahoo messenger. plz help me. it says check the firewall and reinstall.... i dont know . plz give some idea

Have you tried out a little program called Trillian? It supports all those messenger type services, and it's FREE! :D
Once installed, open up your firewall settings, and allow it to connect to the internet through your exceptions panel. That should solve a lot of your problems. :)
Hope that hepls.

My volume icon is missing how can i replace it?

I will assume youre using XP it has a tendency to disappear sometomes. Go to control panel / sounds and audio devices, you will see a checkbox to show icon in taskbar. Its probably still ticked but just untick it and retick it then apply and it should be back there. Cheers from Scott and plz vote

I wonder if you can help me, I am having difficulty downloading Yahoo Messenger, for some unknown reason it my computer will not download the icon onto desktop when asked, a windown comes saying all files...

What browser are you using?
If you are using Firefox and windows vista than the file is downloaded to your downloads folder under your user folder.
In past versions, downloaded files were saved on your desktop and this is not the case anymore.

Look in your "downloads" folder, the icon will be there.

Desktop icons does not appear

Have you checked the Documents and Settings folder? Basically, Desktop Icons are just shortcuts/links to actual programs.

Since you know which programs had shortcuts to the desktop, use the My Computer in the Start Menu to go to the Program Files and Windows directories to go to the actual program. Then "Right-Mouse Click" these programs, choose "Send to" -> "Desktop". A shortcut will be created on the desktop.

For the standard Windows Icons, use the right mouse click, select Properties, Go to Desktop, click Advanced then select My Computer, etc....
