How do you get ssid typed in? Bcuz I don't know our ssid.

You could either call your Internet Service Provider, or ask the person who installed your modem, what your SSID is.

I have inserted my Netflix Watch Instantly DVD into the WII and I have wireless internet service at home, the console asked me to enter the SSID number so I figured this was my wireless network password...

The SSID(network name) is actually the name you give the router. When you are on a wireless device and look at available wireless routers in range, the name you see is the SSID. You can see the SSID in multiple ways,

Login to your router admin page by going to the router ip address(usually and log in. After you log in, go to the wireless settings and confirm your SSID.

If you have a wireless device like a laptop, you can view all available wireless routers in range and you should see yours show up. Check what the name of it is(SSID) and use that and input it into your Wii.

I want to hook up to wireless it says error on ssid what is that

ssid is the name of your wireless network.
if your setting up this manually then make sure you are typing the SSID name of your wireless network correctly. it is also case sensitive.
if your SSID is hidden it won't be detected by find access point.
if your SSID is not hidden just use the find access point and your wii should automatically detect or ask you to choose which wireless network you wish to connect to.
it will prompt you for a password if your wireless network is encrypted.

Make sure that when you post your SSID that you aren't having duplicates. Each SSID should have it's own specific type i.e. WiFi and WiFi-5Ghz to let the router know that the lowband 2.4Ghz is running on this SSID and the Higher band is the 5Ghz. ( This is just from my experience with N-band routers.. you need 2 different names for each band)

The SSID is the name of the wireless connection. Just do a search and connect to the one that doesn't have security on it.

Wat is ssid

SSID is the name of the access point or router through which you connect to the Internet wirelessly. If you are at a WI-FI hot spot where a free wireless connection is provided, then you will not have to worry about entering a SSID. When setting up a wireless connection with a router in your home or business, you will be given or asked to create your own SSID. To be able to connect to the Internet wirelessly, it will be necessary to know the 32-character password that is the SSID.

Netflix update asking for ssid no.

SSID - Service Set Identifyer

The SSID is a secret key which is set by the wireless network administrator. You must know the SSID to connect to a 802.11 wireless network. However, the SSID can be discovered by network sniffing/scanning. By default, the SSID is part of the packet header for every packet sent over the WLAN.

go in your dlinks settings it by default always set to the routers name, you computer should detect the router in an area of networks, if the update is looking for an SSID # look on the sticker on the router it should say it there

Im trying to connect to the wireless connection and it keeps asking me for SSID NUMBER AND IT KEEPS GIVING ME ERROR 51330

The error is due to the fact that you either leave the SSID number blank or are giving it an incorrect number. I think you may be in the incorrect system setting. I don't have my Wii in front of me but I'm fairly certain that, unless you're internet is password protected, You shouldn't have to post any information. I think there may be a chance that you are attempting to connect to a network that isn't your own. Just a guess, but I'd say it may be a pretty good guess.
What I am certain about is that the SSID (which is just a fancy name for "network name") should be titled on your Wii as whatever your home network is titled. For example, if your wireless system is called linksys, then your SSID should be titled linksys. These can be case sensitive so keep that in mind.
I hope this helps!
