This is very common after a fresh installation of the OS. Simply go to Windows Update and run it a couple of times. Upon reboot, the system will detect your hardware and you'll be back in business!
There is problem with Start Up That mean sysprep... which means system preparation... Go to advance option and select safe mode with command propmt and type it there chkdsk /f .. press y and restart computer .... it will chk the system file in disk and fix it.
1st you need to download or install all the drivers for your Dell computer. Try to use the drivers/utilities disks first. Once you can get online, go to Dell.com and look up your model 4700 and download all the missing drivers.
Your Linksys Router is not a modem. The Linksys has the modem connected to it for wireless connections.
When the pc starts to boot up from the disk, and you get to the point where it asks which partition to install Windows, go ahead and delete all partitions (unless one has the restore image, or you just want to keep a separate partition), or just the main big one. Now follow the instructions to create a partition, and make it as big as desired, again depending on weather you want two, or just one large one. Now tell the pc to install Windows on the newly created partition and see what happens. I am trying to help, so please don't rate me, UNLESS I fixed it. Thanks!
You have to go online and search then download the drivers for preparing SATA laptop harddrives for installation of Windows XP otherwise during installation it will tell you there is no hard drive found.
