SOURCE: No sound through M-Audio preamp and condenser mic

Hi micoach
The condenser mic you are using requires phantom power for it to operate. Pay to check that that is turned on m-audio. Just to be sure.you say you can get sound off the m-audio headphone socket. Just need to check that. You will need to check that you have selected the device for recording from the preferences--audio I/O options menu within audacity. Perhaps check these things and get back to me here if you still have problems.I can go into more detail with you.

SOURCE: how to use yamaha mg102c with m audio usb

You must connect:
the mixer output to the "line|optical" input of the Transit
the mixer input to the line (in case of an analog signal) or to the optical (in case of a digital - optical signal)
The USB connector on the other side is going to be connected at the USB port of the pc.
Just keep in mind that the signal flow goes as the arrows on the Transit.

SOURCE: Sound through headphones only.

Try the speakers on another computer, to see if they work at all. If they do, then the problem is the audio-interface on your computer (or DVD-player, or home-stereo system).

How can I connect my Onkyo TX-SR507 to a PC to play MP3 files

The easiest way is to use a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA cord and connect the output of the sound card to an AUX input on the receiver. These cables are readily available and cheap. You shoul dhave 3 mini jacks on the back of the computer related to the sound card setup.

1) Audio input mic
2) Audio input line
3) Audio output line

Connect the receiver to the audio output line jack.

Whow i connect my xenyx 1002 mixer to audiophil 2496 sound card

You must connect:
the main out of the 1002, or the ctrl room out of the 1002 at your power amplifier's input.
the line in 9/10 of the 1002 at your 2496's line out.
the cd/tape out of the 1002 at your 2496's line in.
in case of a cd connect it's line out at line in 3/4, or line in 7/8 of 1002
some mic at the mic 1 or mic 2 of 1002.
That's the way you're going to have control for:
the mic level from channel 1 or 2.
cd level from channel 3/4 or 7/8.
pc playback from channel 9/10.
master speakers from main mix or ctrl room.
All the above connections are not absolute and may vary depending on your needs.

Line in / Mic jack help

So we're talking PC here, right?

I don't understand what you want to record. Going from the PC Headphone jack to the PC Line IN might be unwise in order to prevent a feedback loop. External (non-PC) source and PC MIC might work but you would probably want to monitor it on headphones again because of possibe feedback.

Does your MIC work?

Right click the speaker icon again and select Adjust Audio Properties or open Control Panel and select Sounds & Audio Devices. Select the box to place the icon on the Taskbar for future use.

Right click on the little speaker icon in your Taskbar and select Open Volume Control, if it's there. From there you're on your own. I have a sound card so I don't know what you will see. Look around, there may be a bunch of audio outputs and inputs with Master and individual volume & balance controls plus one for your Mic. Make sure it's not muted.

Speakers not working.................

Check the following,
  • Speakers, connecting cables and Sound Card are working fine by connecting to another computer.
  • Speaker Cable is connected to an audio port (Audio/Video port in system box).
  • Volume is MUTE / Low (in Volume Controller).
  • Audio drivers have installed.
To Check follow the Steps:
• Go to Start>
• Control panel>
• Double click on "System" Icon> (it shows the System Properties Window)
• Select “Hardware” Tab>
• Select “Device Manager” Tab> (it shows the Device Manager Window)
• Select “Sound, video and game controllers”>
• Expand “+” symbol> (check the audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers and others are not in Questioned Mark (?) symbol with yellow color. If there need to install the drivers ).
  • If not, insert the motherboad CD, browse>select audio driver>install. After completion, restart computer and check.

Line Recording with H5500

i think that audio jack is for headphone-microphone combined (those cable plugs have a three black lines , top for left audio, center for right audio, last line for microphone) so you can use a headphones with mic directly with this 5500. the mic is i said before is the last line. what you need is a monophone plug. (mono mic) i dont think stereo mic will work.

I just installed my M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI card (it seems this is part of the Delta series of cards?) in Windows 7 (64-bit) and it successfully registered and installed the driver, but when I disable my old sound drivers in Device Manager (the Realtek ones which is the sound integrated on the motherboard) I don't hear anything and I checked the Audiophile driver settings and see no headphone or speaker devices listed like there was in the Realtek driver. I re-enabled the Realtek driver and it seems my headphone jack is connected to the motherboard so it's using the built-in Realktek sound card. How can I get sound from my Audiophile card to my headphones? Do I have to remove the Realktek drivers completely or can I leave them just disabled in Device Manager? I don't see a Headphone jack labeled on the Audiophile card. First screenshot shows the two Realtek drivers (ATI HDMI Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio) and my M-Audio Audiophile driver in the Device Manager: http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/4369/audiophile1.png Here you can see how I right clicked on the Realtek driver and disabled it. I did this for the other one. After doing this I tried to play a movie and got no sound: http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/9194/audiophile2.png Here is my Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage audio devices: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4720/audiophile3.png As you can see the Speakers (this seems to be device associated with my headphones) are showing the Realtek driver. When I disable the Realtek driver in Device Manager and then go to this same screen it doesn't even show the Speakers device any longer. BTW my headphones use a 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. I don't see anywhere on the Audiophile card where I can plug them in there are only RCA inputs and RCA outputs and the breakout cable has SPDIF inputs and outputs. None of these will accept the 1/8" jack! HELP PLEASE!
