Change ide or sata cable.
Also change power cable of smps to harddisk.
Make sure your harddisk set as master with jumper settings.
Read jumper settings on harddisk then set harddisk as master.
Then check in bios.
Change ide or sata ports on motherbord then check.

Check that the data-cable between the disk-drive and the motherboard is tightly-connected to both the disk-drive and the motherboard.

Check that the disk-drive is getting power.
Touch it -- it should be warm, not cool, and you may feel some vibration.

If it is connected via a ribbon-cable (not a SATA cable), and there is some other device connected to the other connector on the cable,
disconnect that device, and restart the computer, and see if the hard-drive is now recognized.

Can you remove the hard-drive, and temporarily connect it to another computer? Is it detected by that computer?

No hard disk found

check if u have connected hard disk wires properly.
on n check if u can feel that the power comes in the hard disk by touching it. it should be open.
try putting the hard disk in another pc or note book and check if its picks there..., if not then ur hard disk is not workin n need to get another hard disk. if it picks then recheck ur note book if u have connected the wires properly n try changing hard disk wire and power supply wire n see if it works or not.

My hitachi 1tb xl1000 drive wont read my files and is saying that the drive is not formatted. What is this?

It means that there is no operating system installed on your hard drive and so it will not work until you add one. Buy a windows xp disk or an operating system that you wish to use and put the disk in the cd/dvd rom. Reboot the pc to get it to pick up on the disk in the drive and then follow the prompts to install an operating system.

Apple products do not pick up virus of any sort. The problem with your iPod most probably is due to a broken hard disk. If you reset the iPod, hold it close to your ear and take note of a clicking sound. An iPod that's working properly should have no clicking sounds or anything when you reset it. If you can hear one, you have to have the hard disk replaced. Also, before having it replaced, check if you can place it on disk mode and then perform a full restore. Most problems can be solved by resetting the factory settings.

Buy a new "empty" external disk-drive case for $30.

Pick one that has "data" and "power" connectors that are compatible with your current disk-drive.

Put the disk-drive into the new case. Done.

I have a toshiba ez external hard drive and I hate it... just want to clear it and send it back. but can't figure out how to do that

Just open it and highlight everything then rt click and pick delete,
and you should go to my computer, and rt click on the drive letter
and pick format, and format the drive.

If you have personal info on it, get a program called boot and nuke,
its free for the once write, you boot from the disk you make
and it will erase so that most people can not retrieve data from it..

Click: Start
Click: All Programs
Click: Accessories
Click: System Tools
Click: System Restore

Pick a "restore-point" that was taken _before_ the update was applied,
and restore your system to that previous date/time.

OR ....

Look under "All Programs" for a utility that will help you burn CD/DVD(s) to create a "Recovery Disk" set. Burn more CD/DVD(s) with all your "data" files (or copy all your data-files to an external hard-drive). Then, boot from the "Recovery Disk", to begin the process of restoring the "factory" settings.

Drive cannot rocognise disc info

Try doing a clean install of Creator 2009. Creator 2009 should not have anything with Sonic. You need to remove older software, if you don't, that will cause problems in the future.
