SOURCE: Frequent paper jams on Xerox PE220

You have to spin them backward to get them into a good position to clean them, They will resist you, but just take it slow and clean them with alcohol or formula 409 type cleaner.
But what will often cause jams on that machine is the seperation pad that is located on the paper tray itself. It will get very slick and allow 2 or more pieces of paper to feed, It is a small gray to black pad on the middle front of the tray, about 1/4 inch wide and and inch or so long, If it is smoothe scuff it with some scotch brite then order one or two.
Google a business called "the parts drop" and call Britt, they should have the pads and rollers at a fair price.

SOURCE: lights flashing, printer won't print as a result of a paper jam

Hi Girlemom. Just had the same problem here. Lift up the lid and slide the ink cartridges to the left. If they are stuck in the middle, this will prevent the printer from starting properly. Then, unplug it, plug back in, and turn on. It should restart normally.

Please double check if all doors --- including the paper tray cover --- are firmly (repeat FIRMLY !) closed --- seemingly all such are designed as precautionary measures for safety operations.

SOURCE: Dell Laser MFP 1815 won't print. Message keeps

I had same problem. If you go to rear of printer and open the back door you'll see it is attached to a blue connector. Unattached it so that the door opens fully and then unflap the inside roller assembly. Next open the fuser door and you'll notice a little spring loaded assembly on the inside of the opened fuser door. This is where my problem was. Make sure that the assembly springs back when pushed because part communicates with a sensor on the motherboard. If it doesn't spring back then the printer thinks there is a jam. Mine was stuck but after pushing it a few times it started to work freely again. This was a frustrating problem but that fixed my issue and hopefully it will fix yours.

I'm getting Jam at Reg Roll on my Phaser 6180, and I think there may be a bit of paper in the paper path, but i can't see it. The machine says Open Door A, which I've done a few times, but it isn't...

Had exactly the same problem... today actually.

Found the solution with another model's manual - I removed the paper from the top, but hadn't realised there was a jam in the paper tray. It was only when pulling it out completely that I found it as below...

Jam at Registration Roller

1. Remove Tray 2 completely.

2. Clear the jammed paper from the printer's

intake slot.

3. Re-insert Tray 2.

4. Open front door A.

5. Remove jammed paper if present.
6. Close front door A

Error code 6A00. Alarm light flashing and not able to print

Error 6A00 has no specific cause and no specific solution/fix. Sometimes, it's cause by Paper Jam, sometimes Waste Ink Tank Full, sometimes Carriage Problem and still many more.

Simplest Trick: Open the front cover, pull the cartridges with the carriage and leave them somewhere on the passage, now close
the cover and turn off the printer, again turn it on. If it's not a fatal error, there'd be no more problem and no more error displays on the screen.

First try this, open the hood (front cover), after the cartridges moved towards the other end/side, look at the other side (the
side where the cartridges were sitting before it moved to the other side). You'll see the Waste Ink Tank Pads (sponge), remove
them and clean them (they should have been soaked with ink, so use a hand-glove). Remove the pads and squeaze or wash and dry them, after they are cleaned and dried, reinstall (re-seat) them. Now power on the printer and check again.

Secondly, (remove the cartridges before you begin) open the doors and look for paper jam or anything inside the passage and through the paper passage. Use a blower to blow all the dust and clear them out. Now turn off the printer and leave it for few minutes while you clean the cartridges, again switch on the printer, install the cartridges. Now see if it's still there or not.

Try turning the printer up-side down, shake it (do this while the machine is off) and again reboot it. Once again check the status.

Push in a photo paper (or similar thicker paper) into the sheet feeder, do this several times and again reboot the printer.

If the problem even after all these are done, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

HP 7210 All in One keeps showing a paper jam, but there isn't one. What should I do?

Turn off the Printer
Remove the Rear Access door of printer
Check if the Rollers have any dust/ bits of paper
Clean the rollers with lint free cloth ( upwards just like the paper is picked and rolled )
Close the rear access door
open the front access door
Move the Carriage ( while holds the cartridges ) manually 5-6 times from left to right side
Check if there are any paper pieces stuck
Close the front access door
Turn on the printer - It should work fine

In case it gives same issue -

Disconnect the power cord from back of printer ( while printer is on )
While holding the # and 6 key, Connect the cord back
Release the # and 6 button after 3-5 times
Follow the instructions on the screen to align the cartridge

NOTE : doing the # 6 reset will erase Fax logs, Speed dial # you have saved in the printer.

When i try to print something, a window pops up that says I have a paper jam and the printer has an e then a 3 flashing. there is no paper jam. I've un-installed and re-installed with no luck and I can't...

Dear Sir,

plzz folow this step to solved your problem

  • Step 1 Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
  • Step 2 Turn off the printer.
  • Step 3 Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  • Step 4 Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  • Step 5 If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
  • Step 6clear-printer-paper-1.6-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep6 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a00/3f/31/clear-printer-paper-1.6-800X800.jpg'); }); If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  • Step 7clear-printer-paper-1.7-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep7 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a00/3f/31/clear-printer-paper-1.7-800X800.jpg'); }); If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
  • Step 8 Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  • Step 9 If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path

Paper light flashing on my brothers HL-2040 printer. I fanned the paper still keeps flashing

    Hello ,

Please follow the below steps to try and clear this message.

    1. Turn the power off on the unit.
    2. Open the front and back cover of the unit.
    3. Remove the drum and toner cartridge from the unit.
    4. Check thoroughly inside for any paper jams or any other foreign objects and remove them.
    5. Reinsert the drum and toner and close the front and back cover.
    6. Turn the unit back on.
If the light keeps flashing you will want to check to see if you need to feed paper through the manual feed.

The manual feed is the opening on the front of the printer, just place a page there.

This should clear the error message on the display screen and allow you to resume normal use of the printer.

    Thanks,

    Pat

If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
