On the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find the 'down force' control. Increase this 1/4 turn and try. You may have a bad RPM sensor or misaligned door sensors depending on any other symptoms.

Ok here is the problem. The garage door opener is a craftsman and is around 10 years old. It has worked great until today. If seems like the down stop has broken as the door is being pushed way to far...

You need to remove the cover from the motor unit and check the limit switch assembly. You could have a broken or loose wire. Watch the operation and you should be able to tell what is wrong.

Craftsman Model 139.53919 Door adjustment stop level broken

Because you had just changed the PIN for the keypad I would remove the battery in it and see if that makes a difference. It's a wild leap I know but.
If that doesn't change anything I think your logic board has failed.

Problem with Garage Door - Stopping and Starting

If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses it is a sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flashing ever so slightly. The sensors must be pointed at one another for both lights to be on.

Our garage door opener is messed up. It keeps

If there is nothing in the path of the beam as the door comes down, then the electric eyes are off a bit in alignment. It takes very little to knock them out of alignment, and very little to align the again. You can turn them by hand, but make small changes. Look at them and aim for straight 180 degree sight line.

Sears garage door opener only open half way going up..

this one is easy...there inside your garage door opener, the one on the top of your ceiling in your garage has little like knobs ..mine has a straight like screw driver circles attached to knobs. Round dials with screw driver like knobs on top of them...they are adjustable. your "tune" them until they just stop where you want them, don't forget to grease your chain, keep your tracks clean of dust, and make sure your safety "stops" are working properly so that if children are in the way, it will stop. Also..make sure there is nothing in the way of the track. If the sensor "senses" a block...that will also cause it to stop halfway. Now if you could tell me how to change my combination on my keypad...I'm all set.

Craftsman 1/2hp garage door opener does not go down to floor

I'm no expert, but on a previous door opener I had (don't know the brand), the side adjusting screw basically adjusted a limit switch, which was located inside the plastic housing (where the motor is). I was able to remove the housing, figure out which limit switch was actually being contacted "too soon" on the way down and adjusted it while watching it.

Just a suggestion, you might take a look.

just keep your hands out of the way of the chain and sprocket if you do take the housing off. .
