Question about Philips DSR708 DirecTV DTV Receiver / 70-Hours Video Recorder
Have Philips DSR708 DirecTV DVR and after power up the TV screen displays the please wait while we download the information screen and then hangs up there. All front panel indicators come on correctly, fan is on and you hear the hum of the hard drive. Tried removing and reinstalling the access card with same results. All connections are properly installed and the system worked great for several years.
Connected a DirecTV DVR receiver with the same input/output connections configured like the Philips and everything works properly so there is something wrong with the Philips box. Any suggestions?
Is this a new issue that has shown up on the receiver? If so then you might have a bad hard drive in the receiver causing it to hang on boot up. Also these units require two inputs from the satellite antenna so that could be another possibility.
