Could be a few things,

Is the InFocus Projector Showing part of the video? and when you move your mouse around does it "pan and scan" around the screen? If so, the video, or resolution you are sending on your computer is to high.

If the video window on the projector is just black, but you can see it on your monitor and you can see your desktop on the projector, it is a display setting on your computer. Make the Projector your primary monitor in this case and it will work. Many laptops don't send video to both monitors to conserve resoruces.

Also, make sure you have the aspect ratio set to auto,

More details on the Projector, computer, and video content would help solve it. Its a setting somewhere.

You need to enable the 2nd video output in the video card settings!

right click on desktop select properties and select the settings tab

Select the monitor 2, click on extend my desktop to this monitor.

Then you can drag windows either out from your main monitor, to up, down, or the sides debends on where you set the 2nd display, you can also change the position of the 2nd screen by draging it around in the middle.

Hey my InFocus LP530 wont detect my pc/laptop, ive changed the auto sorce select to on but still nothing, so i changed it to off and tried all sorces manually but still nothing, Any ideas?

set the pc screen resolution to a low setting.
connect the vga output on the pc to an external monitor and check that the video appears on the external monitor. change the mode of operation on the pc until it does appear.
then disconnect the external monitor at the end of the vga cable, and connect the free cable end to the projector and auto source search for the vga input signal

Laptop display will not project onto screen

A couple of possibilities...

Connect a separate monitor to your laptop and verify that your laptop's external monitor port is functioning properly.
If yes, connect and power up the LP120. Press the source key on keypad. You should see the projector switch from video to computer.
Last option, does the projector display an "out of range" message on the screen. If so, reduce your laptop resolution to 1024 x x768.

your display settings may be off, so change settings to factory reset and you may have to drop the resolution on your computer. you may also have a bad cable, so try a different cable.

The monitor connected to a docking station will not resize after using laptop with an InFocus projector

The inFocus projectors typically force a lower screen resolution - you have to go back and reset the monitor to it's proper resolution. Only takes a few seconds - go onto a blank area of your desktop, right click, select properties, settings, then adjust the resolution. Hope that helps - I've had the same thing happen when using a projector, and have never been able to have the screen automagically "readjust" after using the projector...

Cannot see computer displyed on output of infocus screen shot

Many laptop computers do not automatically turn on their external
video port when a projector is connected. On many laptops, the activation function key is labeled with an icon or the text CRT/LCD.

Try the Function Key with the Icon of a monitor to enable the external video port.

If that does work, look at the settings on the projector using the buttons on the top.

Check the "Default Source"

Default Source toggles among Computer 1 analog, Computer 1 digital, Computer 2, and Video. This determines which source the
projector checks first for active video during power-up. Highlight
Default Source and click the left or right mouse button to toggle
among the options.

How to run monitor and projector same time?

You would have to have a dual head video card (two monitor connections) or have two regular video cards, or use a VGA splitter. If you do it through a video card, once you have them installed, go into the settings tab on the display properties and it will show multiple monitors, simply click on the second one and check the box that says "extend my desktop..."
Good Luck!
