Question about Microsoft Computers & Internet
Specs OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) (build 7600)
Board: ASUS M2N-E SLI
CPU: 3.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
Display: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Speakers: Altec Lansing 2.1
I have also installed breakaway, C-Media and realtek to try and solve the problem.
Everything was working fine until all of a sudden my sound just completely stopped working. The speakers are working fine, I have uninstalled and reinstalled all my sound drivers, i have tried to install new sound drivers. I have disabled and then re-enabled the sound drivers.
Device manager says that everything shoud be working fine and windows cannot detect any problems.
Also, i get absolutely NO sound if I use C-Media or realtek as my default sound. But through break away i get only static.
Please I am soo frustrated
Uninstall all the audio drivers and restart the computer. Make sure the audio jack is in the Green audio port.
Let the operating system re-detect the audio and install the drivers for it itself. When its done see if you have any sound.
Post back if this does not work.
