Hello,

what this simply means is that there as been an over flow of water in to the panel that is the reading sensor (lens)

what you are to do to fix up this problem is to unscrew the washer by the screws with a screw driver (technician tools) then clean up all form of water or liquid arpound the panel(lens) or the wires and couple it back to is position .

please note before you can carry out this assignment you will have to put off all form of power supply connected to the washer .

thank ou and thanks for using fixya.

E8 is fault connection from CCU (Control board) to balancing sensor. When you get E8, this is often because of a faulty control board. Try first disconnecting power for a couple of minutes, to reset the appliance. If you still get E8, then you need to call a technician. Testing is done jumping the two wires to the sensor to bypass the sensor, then replacing either sensor or control board.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear regarding the problem. E8 refers to a fault connection Central Control Unit ( CCU ) to balancing sensor.

The only User Fixable option would be to Unplug the washer for few minutes and then turn it back ON after few minutes. This would Reset the machine. If the problem resolved, that's good unless you need to call professional on site.

Note - More likely it would be a Control Board problem so let a professional on site fix the same for you.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your reply!!

In different Brand, the same Error Code might refer to different meanings.

For Eg - In Maytag stack washers, E8 refers to dryer motor run relay.

The best i could do is to offer a link for Manual . Download and read the same yourself.

    Thanks!!

I do not believe that is a 1E I think it's an IE error code which would be water inlet wiring or something like that. Here is the code list, scroll down until you find IE, Daewoo errors start at E2, hope this helps.

I have a Daewoo DWD FD1233. It's brand new & 12 minutes before end of cycle it comes up with E8 as an error. The machine wont spin after that. What can i do? Lots of wet washing.

Daewoo e8 - engine error! or Bad soldering.
Remove the control panel (the one in which many connections). Remove the rear rubber compound around contacts blue relay.
Resolder them. And it will be all ok!
Or - remove the entire back of the compound and look for where the bad soldering (cold soldering ). You can see it - blackened or exfoliated. Just solder all.
