Probably yes, I would go directly to the Realtek site and download it direct from the source. Use the newest driver.

Trouble shooting power

Hi Get yourself a good digital volt meter and check the power supply adapter of the Laptop. Must be a little more than what Laptop uses. Check the connections If loose replace with new connector. If you have ability to solder connections. Disassemble and resolder on power board. Hope that helps.

Gateway model KR-0817 WILL NOT TYPE I HAVE TO USE THE ON SRCEAN TO TYPE

Make sure the keyboard's "tail" is plugged-in to the _keyboard_ slot on the motherboard.

Try the keyboard on another computer, to see if it works at all.

Connect a "known-working" keyboard to your computer, to see if _any_ keyboard works.

Try a keyboard with a USB "tail".

I have a Gateway ml6720 and when I plugg it in to charge the light goes on and off now it will not even come on. Is it the cord or the peice in the back?

Most likely you have lost the charger "brick" itself. I have though seen an increase in the power cord that plugs into the wall socket go bad and that would be the last piece I would think of going bad but they do. The easiest way to test the cord is get another power cord that plugs into the power "brick", if the light comes on and stays on, then it was the actual power cord and not the adapter (brick) part. Less expensive "bricks" tend to run very hot and therefore do not last long. The cheaper "bricks" that are made in China, tend to last less than a year under normal load.

I need to replace the cooling fan and heatsink on my Gateway ML6720. I'm having trouble finding the part. If I can find it, can you tell me how to replace it?

The best thing you can do is replace the fan itself with a like kind of shape and size. I usually do this by going to a computer store with the old fan and matching it up with the ones they have in stock, or measure the size in milimeters and buy one on line. The fan is held on by 4 screws and it is much easier than trying to remove the heat-sink and take the chance of damaging the motherboard. You can just screw the new fan to the old heat-sink and you are done, plug it in and insure the fan is blowing in the right direction and you are done. Good Luck, RAC
