Question about Philips DVD622 DVD Player

Philips DVD622 Factory reset

I'd posted a query earlier on the factory reset of a DVD622.
I set the dvd to prog scan and the default background is no longer displayed on TV (blueish image of disc center with PHILIPS on disc). Pressing "system" on the remote has no effect.
Is there a manual factory reset for the dvd player and if so could someone give a step by step (idiot's guide) to do this.
Appreciate a response.

Go to and search for your modal then look in Q/A's or just look in the manual for the factory reset....Usually found in the on-screen menu!

I was exploring the setup menu and I found an election of Progressive Scan "on" and "off". When I tried "on" then the picture get out and no image was since then. I can't...

There are 2 ways you can reset the player to default factory settings, although I am not sure about progressive scan being reverted back to interlaced output.

1) Unplug the player (or switch off) at power point, as soon as you reconnect (switch on) power to unit, press and hold the [STANDBY-ON] button (on the front). As soon as you see 'IS TV ON?' on the front panel display, release the [STANDBY-ON] button. This should reset it.

2) If you do not have the instruction manual, you can download a free pdf of it;

I hope this helps a tiny bit.

DVd audio sounds slow

Check you owners manual for the audio settings. Check these pages and note that the underline setting are the factory settings.Pages 37-41.These are the setting most likely changed. You can always reset the player to factory settings. This will most likely restore everything to normal. This procedure can be found on page 47. The reset function is call default. This is a factory reset function.The function is found in the settings menu under the preferences.If you do not have a copy of the owners manual handy, you can use this link and find a pdf copy on the philips website. If you still cannot get the player working correctly, you can call the Phillips customer support at this telephone number 1-888-744-5477. Give them the model number of your dvd player and the problem you are having with the sound slowing down. They will be able to help you solve this problem. I hope this information help you solve your problem.

Reset to factory defau;ts

Small print in the manual says to hold down the 100/P.Scan button on the remote to toggle between progressive and interlaced. This was after I blindly tried to follow the setup screens in the manual and found that the manual doesn't match the exact screens (must be a firmware difference?) in the manual.

Also found that the factory default instructions in the manual do not include a yes/no confirmation screen.
