    IN REGARDS TO THE PREVIOUS MESSAGES ON THIS UNIT.

    THE "TIMER" LED IS THE ONE BLINKING

    THERE ARE TWO ERROR CODES

    12 & 66

    WE HAVE REPLACED THE BALLAST AND LAMP

    THIS DID NOT CORRECT ANY ISSUES.

    PLUG UNIT IN; HEAR IT CLICK; BUT UNIT DOES NOTHING. FANS DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COME ON NOR DOES THE LAMP.

    PLEASE ADVISE AS TO THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE

This TV has self diagnostic feature and can tell internal problem in specific error code.
To read out error code, turn On TV, let it blinks green light until it stop, press and hold Menu & Input buttons on TV front at same time for 6 seconds, its light will start flashing in 2 sequence order, like 2 blinks, 3 blinks etc.
Let me know that blinks to check problem section and suggest solution.
Thanks.

    Hi, appreciate your response,
    Let me explain it again,
    Light will blink two times with little pause then bigger pause.
    Suppose it blinks..... (2 times) -- (4 times) ------ (2 times) -- (4 times) ------ like that. so error code would be 24
    Please check it again and post your findings.
    Thanks.

    Need to perform error code reading process again because code 1-2 means, no error.
    As I said, turn on TV, let light blinks, may take couple of minutes, when it gets stop blinking, then proceed for error code reading procedure.

    One more thing, what LED is blinking in TV as TV has 3 LEDs at front.
    Below is an image of error codes for this TV taken from service manual that will help you.
    Thanks.

    66 error code, I'm afraid, problem seems in DM Board and it is qualified TV tech job to replace it. It is not user level repair because few adjustments would be done after dm board replacement.
    Please contact local tv tech for an estimate.
    Thanks.

The pop was a high voltage arc of electricity that blew some vital components on the main circuit board. The unit is of no use now. Repairs are far more than replacing the TV.

I have a mitsubishi wd-52631 and the red light is solid I just cleaned out the tv and got a new bulb but when I turn the tv on I get about 2 mins of picture and sound before it turns off. Does any one know...

It is possible either did not get all the dirty areas in front, and rear of set cleaned out or even that the ballast for the unit is this problem since it powers the lamp---lamp will come on and then turn off for a number of reasons.

The set does have a self diagnostic feature which usually is:

Mitsubishi TVtroubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and getthe regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons togetherfor about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected

Smell from mitsubishi wd-52631

Hi...maybe I can help. Go back in and make sure your lamp is connected to the ballast. If it is not all the way in, it will smell like it is burning. Sometime it will even burn out you lamp and or ballast too. Good luck
