You can use 6 inch pipe wrench on the top of the chuck and an eight inch on the large part of the chuck.Put a rag in the pipe wrench jaws.Lay the drill on a flat surface with the chuck pointed at you.The handles face the same way, small one on the bottom to lock the chuck and the 8 inch on top so they look like scissors. Depending on which way the chuck is jammed will determine if the handles are on the left or right side.Gloves and safety glasses will make holding the top wrench with a bit of force to lock every thing in place. Now just a tap on the end of the eight inch wrench will loosen the chuck. If the set up is wrong you will only jam the chuck more.

Wrap cloth or something around chuck to protect it a bit and using multi grips try to free up .if chuck is faulty youll need to get to left hand screw down inside the chuck to remove it. good luck some are very tight.

How do I straighten a chuck bend off removing a jammed bit?

If this is a TE7 then the chuck will just pop off of the front end. You just pull the rear chuck sleeve foward to release the chuck. With the chuck off run the drill to see if the cylinder is bent. If you bent the cylinder it will wobble. If the cylinder is okay just order a new chuck. If the cylinder is bent then your best choice is to send it to Hilti and have it repaired by them. They have a ceiling on the amount the repair would be and you would get a warranty with the repair. It would be cheaper than you trying to buy the cylinder and replacing it yourself.

Model # HJP001 Ryobi 12 volt cordless drill. Chuck is jammed, will not close. There is a screw down inside the chuck but it will not turn.

I just had the identical problem with my HJP001, and managed to solve it piecing together info from this thread. The cause for the chuck to jam was that the retaining screw had come loose and was interfering with the chuck. As others have pointed out, the retaining screw has a left-hand thread, ie reverse from most screws, which obviously needs to be taken into account. Simply tightening the screw solved my problem - together with some WD40 ;-)

The collet seems jammed and I cannot adjust...

This is just a longshot, but look down inside the chuck with a flashlight and see if your chuck-mounting screw has migrated out. I had the same problem with my Milwaukee, and turns out that's what it was. The collet was jamming up on the chuck screw.

I have a broken drill bit stuck in a B&D BD154R chuck It is broken off low down so I can't get a pair of pliers on it. What can I do?

If it won't fall out with the chuck fully open, you'll have to remove the chuck. use an allen wrench larger than the jammed bit and lock it into the chuck. Hit the allen wrench with a soft hammer to loosen the chuck. Remove chuck completely and push the bit out from the bottom.

How to take my chuck off broke tool off inside chuck

The screw that holds the chuck on, is in the bottom of the chuck itself. If there is something jammed in the chuck, it must be removed in another manor. If the chuck is jammed, I have used two pair of channellocks to open the it.
