1 Answer

I own a Tungsten E and have a Dell XPS Vista 32-bit. I used to be able to HotSync and now I can't. How can I fix this.

OK, that seems to help, as it will now hotsync. Unfortunately there is only half the data on the calander, how do I get the device to sync with the palm? The desktop used to dominate but some of the items on my calendar are missing?

Welcome to Fixya, thank you for asking your question here. Sometimes the software gets bugged and needs to be reinstalled. Please go here. http://palmone.r3h.net/downloads.palm.com/PalmDesktopWin62.exe Download the newest version of the palm desktop with hot sync, and then install it. After installing it, restart the computer and then try again to sync it. If that doesnt work, please go through the automated troubleshooter listed here. http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/2630_en.html It runs through all the scenarios that may be blocking you device from syncing. The most optimal choices are reinstalling the software as i suggested already from the link i gave, and then performing a soft reset on your Tungsten E. I hope this helps out, and please don't forget to rate my solution. If you have any additional question's feel free to ask!

Ok great, it if will now hotsync. Then you need to try and resync it with the newer information..

If it seems like it wont overwrite the information on the palm, then sometimes the best thing to do is to save all your contacts and settings to desktop first..

And then perform a soft reset on the palm ( which basically wipes out all the information stored on it , which is why we saved all the settings to the PC desktop first for backup)

Then after doing so, shut the device off, then on.. And then try to sync it with your outlook calendar again, now that it has no info stored, it should take the info form your desktop ..

Then afterwards restore the information you saved earlier back to the tungsten.

let me know if the reset of the tungsten works for you.

Dell Dimension XPS PC Desktop won't boot

Hi,

Vista is available in 32 and 64 bit os.
if your system ran xp which was most likely 32 bit. And you have installed a 64 bit version os.
this will be your problem, also Vista requires more system RAM/Memory to run it.
If you get 1 beep at startup, it states the system is ok.
Alternatives are device drivers incompatability.
Check M$ website, regarding vistas minimum system requirements.

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

64 bit?

I run Vista 64 bit with no issues at all. 64 bit is the future of the computer world. If software is made to utilize 64 bit operating systems the speed is quite remarkable. 64 bit Vista is still backward compatible with 32 bit so virtually all programs except for the oldest legacy stuff. Also 64 bit allows you to surpass 32 bit's 3 gigabyte memory barrier. Vista 64 can use up to 128 gigabytes. It may not seem important now ,but at the rate computers evolve it will.
