Do you have a three year old in the house?? Our ProForm 795 treadmill started making noise when the belt was rotating. Come to find out, he had hidden a plastic clothes hanger inside where the drive roller spins the belt. That was our scaping noise.
Otherwise, is your belt tensioned correctly? If not, it could be tracking to one side or the other.

What wrong with my vacuum?

I expect something is rubbing on the beater bar or belt. Remove the beater bar and belt and look for a paper clip, scrap of material, etc.

A very annoying whine when riding until you hit 110k plus

Could be several things, but lets check the less exspensive solutions first.

Chain/Belt guard bolts loose and scrapping tire or belt.

If shaft drive, check/add gear oil.

Get a piece of wood and put it against the motor and the other end to your ear.
Now put it against the transmission
Now put it on the clutch cover
Listen to see where the sound is more prominent(noticeable).
If motor you may be hearing a stiff timing chain, check/change oil & filter first, then listen again
if tranny, you may need to change your oil, if you hear the gaers whining. good clean oil will quiet a noises tranny.

Clanks , clucks, rattles, are not good noises
a whining noise could be something simple to worn out bearings.

Check to make sure that nothing is rubbing first,(misplaced saddlebag, loosened guard)

Listen with a stethescope or piece of wood if the noise is hard to locate.

Dryer is making a scrapping noise like something needs oil

Most common thing causing scrapping noise on tumble dryers is the drum bearing worn. Listen carefully at the back of the machine when it is going and you will confirm the noise is louder there, if so a new drum bearing is required. There is a small removable panel in the middle of the outer back panel where the bearing is. Spares are available at your local suppliers

How can i tell if compressor is bad

In the worst case the shaft will be frozen and when the compressor clutch engages, your serpetine belt will smoke and fall off. Before that, if you have the proper Freon pressure and the compressor clutch engages, it will make a noise like loose marbles scrapping inside a cylinder.

There is suppose to be oil in the compressor, a certain weight like motoroil differs, get the right one. There are cans of Freon which have an oil charge in them. You add it to the low pressure side of the system just like regular Freon. Sometimes you can get lucky and add it and the noise will go away and there is no damage. Other times the parts are pitted and the oil will lube them up and its too late.

If your A/C is not putting out and not making noise, then it is something else like a simple recharge or fixing a leak.
