When I connect my Sansa clip 2GB to my computer it

Recently when I connect my wife Sansa clip 2GB to my computer it is not turning on (showing connection/charging) and the computer does not reconized it. But when I unplug it, it turns on. The player is getting some charge but not fully(never had any problems with it in the past)

I also have a Sansa clip 2Gb but not having any problems with it on my computer.

Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks....

Some recent Windows updates have caused problems as severe as this on many mp3 players regardles of manufacturer (the iPod has been immune because it is not Windows-based). If you have either Windows Vista or Windows Media Player 11, which are the latest versions, then perform a firmware update on your Sansa player by going to the Sansa website and getting the firmware updater:

SOURCE: sansa clip mp3 player 2GB shows as UNKNOWN DEVICE when i connect

Sandisk website will have it, and will have the vista compatible software:
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

here is the link for the sansa updater.

Ok...here is something you might want to do....I know you already formatted your device a zillion times already but please do it one more time using the Format option under Settings menu in your device....then restart your computer....then plug in your computer again after restarting to see if it recognizes now.....if not...here is one thing you could do....go to this link

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

download the USBDeView software and see if the registry has the player in there....select it and delete it and then plug in your PC again to see if it will re-register the device and works...hope this will help.

SOURCE: when i connect my sansa clip 2GB to my computer it

just figured mine out. turn your clip off. put the slider in the hold or lock position. press and hold the center button on your clip. continue to hold while attaching the usb to your clip. keep holding the center button as clip powers up. after appox. 12-15 seconds, your computer should read the clip. i am running windows xp and this is the ONLY way my comp. will read the clip. but it works great!! good luck!

Can't see screen or change modes on sansa clip 2gb mp3

You posted your question under "Sansa Clip," so this is a Sansa Clip manual:
http://www.sandisk.com/assets/File/Downloads/user-guides/clip-usermanual.pdf

This model goes to "sleep" quickly by default - pressing any button will wake it up. The button that looks like a house (if the paint didn't get rubbed off already) allows you to go one level higher in the menu tree. Have fun with it.

Sansa 2gb clip

While the player is connected to the computer, you will not be able to go through the menu, play music, etc. Only after you have disconnected it from the PC will it work.

Player shuts itself off

There could be a damage or corrupted file in the sansa clip. I suggest to reformat the player. To reformat the player. First turn off the player. Then slide the power switch down it will be showing red, now press and hold the center or the middle button on the player while connecting the player to the computer. It will be detected as a drive on your computer, now right click on it and choose FORMAT, make sure the file system is FAT32 then click start to continue formatting the player. This will erase or remove all the songs on your player but this will fix the problem that you are having

Sansa clip 2gb

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
