At the factory they fill the scope with nitrigon to keep them from fogging once it is gone the only way to fix it is send it back to the factory. Good luck.

Cross hair broken on my B S A mil dot 4-16 x 40 scope will any gun shop be able to repair

Yes, more than likely.
The scope just needs to be disassembled and the crosshair flange repaired or replaced.
A dealer should be able to order the part or at least fit one similar enough to work.
The trick is not to allow any moisture into the scope's internal cavity during the repair.

1. HOW TO READ SCALING OF SCOPE.? 2. What is

You have not provided enough information for us to help you. What type of rifle? What do you mean by scaling?

With the scope on 3 power you should be able to sight it in at 25 meters. Going to a higher magnification may cause blurring at that distance.

You also may have mounting problems that are causing the scope to move around when you shoot. Your rifle may be fine.

Moisture in a rifle scope

Lay your scope in the sun in the window for a few days, or set it on a heat source, low heat, like a light bulb for a week,, try and cook it out, it got in there, it might come out. No guarantees. Hope this helps.

Rifle scope fogging

You can try to clear this your self. You will need a good sized clear plastic bag, say kitchen trashed can size. You will need to get your hands on some nitrogen or you can also use carbon dioxide. You will need some good electrical contact grease or Vaseline will also work. Take the focus lens off your scope, let it dry out. Now ck for any o-rings and try to find new if you can, put the grease on the screw threads.Put all the scope parts in the bag and pump up the bag with your nitrogen and tie off the bag but leave room so you can screw the lens back on once it has set for a little bit in the gas. This should let gas stay inside the scope so no moisture can get back inside to fog it up. Try that, sounds crazy but it will work.

Got moisture in scope and it is fogged up

take it into a camera shop, they will have the tool,, but if you undo the scope it will need to be regased again the "o"ring seals have worn out or broken and thats how water got into it,, it also let the nitrogen out of it,,,if its a cheepy scope buy a new one,,,
what i mean by a cheepy is less than £1000,,,,

Elevation won't go any higher

Take the rear ring off and put a shim UNDER the scope.A small piece of plastic from a blisterpack works well and is very stable.Cardboard or paper will swell with moisture and then shrink when it dries.Good Luck

Simmons scope that will not stay on target

Mount the rifle with the scope and make a mark on the backstop right where the crosshairs are pointed at

Shoot several times, several shots will surley jolt the scope some.

If the crosshairs have moved much past your mark then this would indicate the scope is the issue.

If the crosshairs are still pretty well centered to the mark, its not the scope.

If at the same time your grouping looks terrible, and your scope still is on the mark, and the gun is WELL mounted, then the issue is with the accuracy of the rifle.
Make sure the rifle is mounted good for this to ba accurate .
Hope this helps

Just bought used 8x32 swat not sure how to use it. are the win and elev numbers for shooting or just for siteing in rifle

They are for sighting in the rifle only.I know on TV the shooter reaches up and turns a knob.BOGUS! after sighting in the rifle, always replace the little caps because the scope is not sealed unless the caps are on.without the caps, moisture can penetrate the scope and fog the lenses.Good Luck

Scope

Follow these steps

1) Mount your scope.

2) Use a bean bag or rifle mount and make sure that your rifle doesnt move much from its original position throughout this process.

3) Aim with the scope and shoot at a large backstop which will allow you to see where your shot lands, where ever that may be, it doesnt matter at this point. Again, make sure your rifle doesnt move much when firing.

4) With the rifle in the same position, look through the scope and adjust the crosshairs over to where your shot landed.

5) The scope now sighted in with the rifle. Minimal adjustment may still be required but at least your well within the ball park.

Happy Shooting
