My computer monitor tokk so long to turn on

remove all unnecessary add on's, cookies and programs that are not necessary for the operation of the computer. Go into systems management and defrag the drives in the computer. This gets all the bits if information on the discs together. Add more RAM if you are doing a lot of work as small ram capacity slows down a computer . Failing all that take it to a computer geek and have him help you out.

Test or replace your PSU power supply unit preferably with a heavy duty one with plenty of wattage remembering that with any added hardware your computer will use more power/wattage eg:more RAM ,bigger hard drive, slave drive

One bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of problems continually rebooting or failing to detect your drive

replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

hope this helps?

Exactly how far does your computer get before it restarts? there is normally a short beep during the startup phase, do you hear the short beep, or is it a long beep or a combination of different beeps?
I am not saying that it cannot be the power supply but usually problems of this sort are a faulty graphic card or faulty RAM, worst case senario is a faulty motherboard. The first two you can test by adding an extra graphic card or replacing the RAM (or taking one out and then the other if you have more than one RAM) - BE AWARE that you can damage your computer or the RAM itself if you touch the wrong things and you are have a static charge.

Yes, and the power supply needs replacing.
4 screws hold the power supply to the cabinet or case these are usually located outside visible at the fan vents at the four corners.

Flashing Green Light on Power BESTEC Power Supply

Hi. NO, *********** board is not fried. I am not sure what the problem is but I do know how to fix it. It is usually casued by power outages (even if you have UPS supply).

1. TAKE OUT THE ELECTRICITY LEAD TO THE COMPUTER. Look inside the computer and find the bunch of wires coming from the power supply unit (the box thing at the top with the fan and all those colouted wires!).

2. Find where these wires run into a plastic connector and plug into the mother board. Unplug it.

3. Now plug the electicity lead back into the computer. The light should now stay ON.

4. Plug in the connector again... and boot up. Leave it run a while to convince it!

5. Repeat this process if it does not work first time.

This should fix your problem . It works for me when I get this problem.

yes it sounds like the power supply is shot, you can get a replacement at any computer shop for around $40. i would put in a 400w or 450w that way if you add another hard drive or opitcal drive it wont be a strain on the new power supply

How much ram can i install on a hp compaq d220mt?

Laptop Computer Memory Desktop Computer Memory Printer Memory Memory Applications All data processing and execution takes place within the memory module(s). The program's directions are replicated into memory from a hard drive, external drive or from a network. The processor then extracts the directions from the memory and puts it into the circuit for analysis and execution.
Memory is so important that it cannot be wasted. RAM is allocated by the operating system and programs, and then released when not needed. Errant applications can grip RAM and not release it, which results in a diminishing amount of memory available as you load and use more programs.
If you could actually look into memory, you would be astonished. By watching how much and how quick data and commands are written in and out of it each day, you would realize it is a marvel that it works so we is here to help you speed up and breathe new life into your computer by adding more RAM memory! We have hundreds of relationships with different manufacturers and carry all major computer memory brands. This includes Dell Memory, HP Memory, Samsung Memory, Micron Memory, Toshiba Memory and many, many more. We can cut through all that computer jargon and provide you with the part that will work each and every time. Our 100% guaranteed compatible RAM memory upgrades are available for more than 21,000 different computers, laptops, servers, printers and other electronic device.
