Problem with Computer

Did you reset your BIOS ? Try reset your bios. remove the BIOS battery(RTC battery) and press the power button after disconnecting from wall socket. Short the jumper somewhere near to the BIOS chip. A user manual is helpful. If you can't find the jumper, simply short the two terminals inside theBIOS battery holder. That is two golden or steel coloured thin sheet like. Put back the battery after an hour and start the system. Tap the DEL button to enter into BIOS settings and change date and time first then boot device order(boot device priority) save and exit. See what is happening. If it solves the issue you have studied another troubleshooting tip. Hope this helps!!!

My Inspirion m5030 is often frozen, it stops about 3-4 minites and then I can go on. Just now it happen rather often.Thank you for help, Lennart

There are many causes that could match your symptoms.
If the laptop is frozen randomly, the problem would be the memory of the laptop-probably RAM memory, but it could also be the hard drive. Download Memtest utility, and test your ram modules to see if they are ok. You can download memtest from here: to check for hard drive errors go here:

Apart from that, check if the laptop freezes when it's connected to the main power, it could be related to an electrical short circuit.
If you do not have an antivirus, try installing Avast,

Turn on computer, hear beep beep beep. then monitor does not come on, says no signal. looking at black screen only

3 beeps is usually a memory error. In fact, it means there is a failure within the first 64KB of system memory. You can usually find out if one of your ram sticks is bad by taking a stick out and turning the PC back on. If it boots, you found the bad ram. If not, replace and try again.
Once you can ever get it to boot, you can go to memtest ( and download the auto installer for USB key and boot from USB (usually by pressing f12 or del, depending on your will say on boot up). This will tell you if you have any further ram issues.
If this doesn't resolve your issue, the other option 3 beeps can mean is a bad motherboard or other system device (worse case scenario, and fairly rare).
Hope this helps...

XP installation hangs on MSI 945GCM5 diring installation

Too many possibilities. If you have any further information or error messages, please post them.
I would try the basics first.
1.Check your install CD for scratches or damage.
2.Test your RAM for potential problems. (memtest 86)
3.If possible swap your installation optical drive for a different one.
4. Remove all add-in cards (extra USB cards, modem, network cards, etc.) from the system
5. Try to install using a single RAM module.
6.test your hard drive for potential problems. (Most hard drives have a unique diagnostic tool, but DFT works for Hitachi drives as well as others)

My computer keeps shutting down randomly. Also when i try to use F10 it will not respond if i try and run error checking the system will crash/shut down or give me a black screen. Basicly it randomly...

1. overheating, and automatic shutdown.
Check that the fans are working.

2. bad RAM, causing "random" crashing.
On a "good" computer, download the free 'MEMTEST86+' software, and run it, to test your RAM.

3. Leaking capacitors on motherboard, causing "voltage-spikes", leading to "random" errors.

4. Bad disk-drive. Remove the disk-drive.
Connect it as a "slave" drive in another computer,
and run 'CHKDSK' ("Check Disk") to look for problems.

Crash and reboots randomly

Carefully wriggle wires on the back of the PC, one at a time. A card (like video) could be loose. Also, make sure the heatsink/fan is clean, and running. It might be time to reinstall your operating system (I bet it is microsft). If you have another HD, you could install windows on it in your sys, and see what happens.

Ram upgrade issue msi 845 pro motherboard

you should check bios for the ram settings, voltage and speed, they will be printed on the package the ram came in.

also, you don't want to mix ram up, they will run at the slowest ones speed.

also, most ram is used in pairs (2 at a time) using the 3, depending on the motherboard will give you errors.

try entering the bios on boot, and set the ram setting properly. you should see something that flashes on boot, like press f8 or del for bios. change your ram settings, save and exit. type back with your motherboard and ram model numbers if this solution did not work.

POST problems or XP Stop 0x8E

run memtest 86, test each ram stick, if it shows both as bat, then your mobo;'s memory controller is bad. if neither is bad, then it is your graphix card
