Disconnect the heater thermostats by poulling a wire off each stat, and then try it, if it still trips, then could be faulty motor.
The stats are located at the rear of the dryer, behind removeable cover.

Hotpoint TDC62P Condenser Dryer no heat

Hi
Re your on going prob with dryer.
You should be reading 240v at the heater and stats.
To be sure the stats are faulty or not, you need to remove the connections to them and test for continuity through them both.
Set you meter on the ohms range, you should get full scale deflection if they are o/k
if you do not get a reading, then they are faulty.
The orange wires should be on the left side stat, and the blue on the right side stat.
It is possible you have got the stats the wrong way round, the one with the green spot on should be on the left. They are rated at 130c for the green spot, and 106c for the other one.

To be sure you have the right stats, the partnumber should be 1701774.
It is imperative you have the right ones fitted, as they changed the part number depending on the date code of the dryer.
If the stats are o/k then it is possible that the pcb is faulty.
Hope this clarifys things for you.
Good luck.

Hotpoint tdc62p changed thermostats as blowing out cold air,

Make sure that all filters are properly cleaned, and that the air inlet and outlet vents are clear. Make sure water container is empty.
The best way to clean the filter at the bottom is to run cold water through it, this will clear out all the lint.. Make sure you have the correct stats ( there are many for the hotpoint range) and that you have them in the correct position on the heater back plate.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.

I have a hotpoint TC71 condense dryer and the stats are gone (as there is very little heat coming from the dryer) Which stat do I replace? The one on the right or the one on the left?

The stats come as a pair, so replace both of them ,even though only one has gone.
Make sure that all your filters are clean, and that all air vents are clean and clear..
This is a common cause of stat failure.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.
