Re: caller id

Try re-saving a few nos. with the area code e.g +254.... and make sure they are saved in the sim card. A;so Try with another phone and see if its your phone with that problem only. Numbers saved in the phone do not show the names. Also check the settings in the memory status. Try using the sim only and save the nos you dont use in the address book at home so that you dont need to use the phone memory.

Dear Sir, I am using Samsung SJ700 mobile phone. And sometimes I get incoming call with no number displayed on the screen. It just shows incoming call. Can you pls help me in sorting out this...

This happens when two or more similar (saving one number with different names) contacts is saved on your phonebook, i.e. if you've saved my number on the sim card with a name and at the same time you have my number (same number) on your phone's memory, the caller id will not be displayed, you'll only see the "Incoming Call" or "Call". So I would suggest you to please check the phonebook and delete (keep only one per number) if there are multiple similar contacts saved on your phonebook.

You can also reset the phone to Factory default, in case there's no problem with your phonebook/contacts.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Caller ID

Make sure that the number stored in the phone is the same number you get when they call. I had the same problem and i noticed that all incoming call has a 1 in front of it because it is the areacode of US.

This usually happens when you have duplicate entries in your phonebook.

Depending on the model of you phone, You can have only the phonebook or sim enabled but not both to avoid duplicate entries. Or it might be that there is really 2 or more Names for the certain number. Just review your phonebook and remove the duplicates. That should solve your problem.

Hope that helps.

Cect i9 caller id does not show names

let me give you an eg:

i stored an number 984802338 in my mobile with name jhon in my sim, when he calls me up it doesnt show the name.

It is because when he calls me, i observe the number it starts with +919848022338 so it is quite different from the number(9848022338)  you stored in the sim so you caller id doesnt show his name and shows as new user.

so 9848022338 is quite different from +919848022338(here +91 is country code)

Caller id

Save your contacts to the phone. Personalized caller ID only works from the phone, not the sim. Go to contacts then press the contact name once to select it.  Press the menu button (bottom left) on phone and scroll to 'copy to phone'.  You should see the caller name when they ring then.
(I bought a sim back-up device so that I can keep the sim clear. If caller information is on both the phone and sim it gets listed twice in your contacts).
