Question about Panasonic TH-37PX8B 37 in. HD-Ready Plasma TV

Open Question

I have a two month old Panasonic TXP-37-10 of which am very pleased with.I decided, three weeks ago to add extra surround speakers and purchased a couple of 12''Aqsound speakers av 1247 from Lucem Direct.Speakers good, but have a loud ringing spoiling the audio sounds. The Tech side from Lucem have been very good originally thinking, as I did, that we had faulty speakers. This is not the case, on elimination of moving things and working together on suggestions '' speaker, transmitter away from TV , telephone, dvr, ,extending the leads to move around and out of the room, using batteries instead of mains transformer to no avail. Finally testing the speakers on our old Analog Tv Panasonic TX 25 MD 3 ( yes there are still some working perfectly out there) The results were fantastic on sound and no loud ringing or distortion So speakers , Transmitter Transformers, all working fine which means that the fault is from the digital TXP-37-10 TV audio out. I have since tried to isolate the ringing by adding in line external clip on line filters ,first on the jack plug lead to transmitter , then adding another couple of singles to the two audio out line (red& white ) Finally elimination of trying a friend speakers on both new and old T.v.'s with the same results. Still no success, I have a wonderful new Panasonic Tv , and I need the extra speakers. great extention speakers spoiling the whole concept due to this intolerable ringing. Please have you any advice or help that you could give me to keep this set up. I am so pleased that I chose Panasonic again, the picture quality is fantastic. Regards Eric Staniforth P.S. is this a battle of Digital versus Analog ?

SOURCE: cant get my viera linked panasonic to play through surround sound

I had the same problem, so i contacted panasonic, I am including the email they sent me.

For connections of audio, so that you can hear all tv audio through the
surround system, connect either an optical audio cable or red & white
analog audio cables from the tv to the home theater. If you are using
optical audio, there is a plug on back of tv labeled for digital audio
output and an input on the surround sound system. If you plan on using
analog red and white, use the PROG OUT red and white output jacks on the
back of the tv to the AUX input on the home theater.

For video connections, to get HD you will need to be using either HDMI or
Component cables. HDMI is the cable that will provided 1080p signal (the
best HD signal), but if the source does not output 1080p, then your tv
will not display 1080p. Most cable boxes output at 1080i or 720p when on
HD stations. This signal still provides great picture quality, but HDMI is
not needed to get these HD signals. You can use component cables for your
cable box and the DVD player output to the tv for video. HDMI might give
you a slightly better picture quality but the signal will be the same.

To make the connection, you will want to connect from the cable box to the
tv (component or hdmi). Also from the home theater system to the tv using
hdmi or the video cables from component (red, blue, & green cables).

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank You,
Panasonic Consumer

Hello
This type of failure are very rare cases to Panasonic Viera. Anyway, it have so in your case. The video DAC damage is the case. A board replacement should be needed. You have warranty, and get it repaired by the authorised service center. The board is somewhat colstly one. If you have gone trust with this set, ask them to replace it with an other new one. It will be best. OK.

Hi I purchased a sony av amplifier model STR-DB930 on e-bay a few months ago and I am using 3 ohm speakers from my old surround sound system. The output selector on the back of the unit is set to 4 ohms....

The lower number in Impedance specs is not a suggestion. It's a limit. 3 is not between 4 and 8.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

If you don't want to buy new speakers, settle for safer low volume levels.

You're going to kill that receiver driving a 3-ohm load. HTS-style speakers aren't reliably re-deployable to other electronics. Perhaps, if you have 4 speakers and they're similar you could wire them in SERIES and present a 6-ohm load to each channel.

Re-engineering the speakers themselves is, well, don't do it. It isn't rocket science but it also isn

Install Boston Acoustic speakers BA7800 to a new Imac?

Partial Solution anyway - I just got a Mac Pro (2.66 Nehalem )and couldn't find the manual from my old Gateway 700XL. This is what I did: Plug the green wire into the analog output, and the pink wire (if you really need an external mic, but you shouldn't since our new computers both have a built-in mic) into the analog input. Just ignore the black wire. You won't have the 2 surround speakers, but I'm still looking for a fix for that. I got tired of the crappy speakers in my new Apple Cinema display (the ONLY crappy thing about my new system). As you know, the sound from the BA7800 is great, even with just the two front speakers and sub-woofer. I'll keep you posted if/when I figure out how to set up the surround speakers! Likewise, if you hear something, please post here and I'll keep checking back.

Panasonic Viera link and Foxtel IQ

It is very likely that cross talk does corrupt the link but for Panasonic to "blame" anyone else is not very professional. Anyway, if it worked for 6 months perhaps disconnecting the Foxtel IQ and reestablishing the Viera link with the Panasonic devices then reconnecting the Foxtel IQ for another 6 months of happy viewing. This is not a permanent solution but the alternative doesn't seem to be an option.
