In run window type services.msc and the go to print spooler option just stop and restart the service. And switch off and switch on the printer it will clear the entire pending job.

Black lines down on printed page

This is caused by dirt/debrise on the ADF (automatic document feeder) scanner glass. You need to open up the feeder where your originals are fed in and look for a strip of glass that runs from front to back. It is about an inch or so wide. You need to clean this glass to get rid of the lines. Some models have this glass just to the left of the large main glass, but in your case I beleive it is in the feeder itself.
Good Luck.

I'm sure that by now you power cycled the printer.
Print something from a different application. If you are trying to print a Word document and it is getting the 79 error, try printing something from your email. If that works try the failing app again. If it still fails you might have to reinstall the software. Try a different cable from printer to PC. If you can, try a parallel cable instead of a LAN cable. If you are using a JetDirect, remove it and try a cold reset.

Printer/Scanner Problems

Does the line show up on PRINTS FROM YOUR COMPUTER also, or only when SCANNING A DOCUMENT? If the line is only from scanned documents, the SCAN GLASS has something stuck on it. The SCAN GLASS is a GLASS **** located under the ORIGINAL FEEDER. It is NOT the plate of glass you place the original on . Look UNDER the original feeder for a scrap of paper stuck in the optical path of the GLASS ****, and remove the scrap, or CLEAN THE SCAN GLASS IF CORRECTION FLUID, INK, ETC ARE STUCK ON IT. If the line shows up on ALL prints, your CHARGE CLEANING SLIDER located in the IMAGING (DRUM) UNIT must be slid all the way to one end of the charger, OR IT WILL CAUSE A BLACK LINE ON ALL PRINTS. Otherwise, the IMAGING UNIT may need to be cleaned or replaced. Toner smudges on the drum would indicate need for cleaning or replacement.

Black lines

Not sure what you have tried but if there are no lines when printing but there when scanning there is something on the scanner. Could be something as small a single dot of dirt and it will put a line down the whole page. Try cleaning the glass.
