Question about Kodak EasyShare C513 Digital Camera

2 Answers

I took the batteries out of my Kodak C513 while it was turned on so I could clean the lens, and when I put the batteries back in, I could not turn it back on.

I fixed it! Turns out an error from a few weeks before came back to haunt me. It would appear that I have a lens error. The zoom gearing jambs and causes an error. If turning off and on doesn't fix it, turning off and GENTLY pushing against the lens gets it moving again. I tried pushing the lens, and the camera turned on next time I tried! I also followed both sugestions by cleaning terminals and leaving turned off with no batteries for 20 mins.

Pls. use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).

Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

Testimonial: "Spot on! That fixed it. The three sets of batteries I tried were too flat to work. Tried some freshly charged Ni-Mh's, and the camera is back to norm."

Well, at least you know now to never remove the batteries while the camera is on. Try this...remove the card and batteries...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the batteries...turn it on.

My Kodak Easy Share C513 will not turn on, I have changed the batteries, cleaned it, and it has not been dropped or damaged, it also has not gotten wet.

It could be dirty battery contacts. Take a pencil and use the eraser to burnish the contacts. It will clean them nicely. The springs are hard to do, be careful not to twist them up. If you can, use a little sandpaper glued to the end of a pen to clean them. Report back with results.

I uploaded the pics from my c513 and now i cant get the camera to turn on i have new batteries and even if i plug it into my computer it wont even recognize it now

Sounds like you pulled out the camera without using the "safely remove hardware" function. Try this...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Sounds like impact. Try putting new Good batteries in. If that doesn't work, you can contact Kodak to see where the local "authorized" service center in your area is, I know of 2 in South Florida.

My camera wont turn on nor will it connect to the computer

It IS the batteries. The batteries the camera is shipped with only lasted long enuff to use the camera one time, no download. Changing them out to the lithium AA's solved my problem even though the batteries it was shipped with tested good. Kodak might save it's customers a lot of headaches if they ship with lithiums to begin with.
