Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

My Xbox 360 Has a bent usb pin and won't power on.

My Xbox 360 Has a bent usb pin in 1 of the usb ports and won't power on. It's old enough that i'm sure the warranty is up and i don't want to send it in. I've tried bending the pin back and i can't see that it is touching any metal but i cant tell. is there any way i can disconnect the port from the inside? will the console power on with one of the ports disconnected?

Xbox keeps turning off?

Since it's turning off just seconds after turning it on, there are two suggestions I'd add to this list. First, try removing anything unnecessary for powering it on (hard drives, flash drives, wired controllers, ethernet cables, etc.). If it starts up just fine, perhaps you can isolate the problem.

Second, do a thorough examination of every input port on the console. Look specifically for bent pins that may be touching the metal enclosure. This is especially possible if you've got young children (or any careless foot traffic, really) that can kick USB devices out of the front or step on them and bend them down. If there are bent pins, just remove the power supply from the console and bend them back in place to correct the short.

XBOX had no power, so I found and repaired bent USB port pins, then the XBOX came on with three red lights. Any DIY repair possible?

Thanks for your question. To fix the 3 red lights what you will need to do is stop the heat getting to the GPU and the CPU and to do this you can use a good Xbox 360 Repair guide or of course you can send it in to microsoft.

Xbox 360 won't turn on!! I was playing my xbox for all of 30 minutes, turned it off, went to turn it back on again an hour later, and nothing!! No red ring of death, no pop or spark, just nothing....

try this
I know its a little annoying but its useful trust me. The orange light usually means a problem with the power supply. This means WORST CARE SCENARIO you have to replace the power brick but you 99% dont have to get a new xbox.

Xbox kinect sensor not working

You need to provide more information. What is it doing? Is it simply not powering on? If you are using the Slim Xbox make sure its in the right USB adapter. If your using an old Xbox try placing your adapter in different USB ports to see if that works. If none of this helps, try cleaning the sensors with a dry, soft cloth. It should still be under warranty just send it in if you cant get it to work after all this.

2 problems loss of power a xbox 360 console

Check to see if any prongs are touching or bent in the USB ports. When the USB port prongs are bent they sometimes wind up touching the receiver tips of where the USB makes contact with any devices that you plug in. If they are bent just bend them up so they arent touching the metal receivers and that should solve the no power to xbox360.

My 360 won't power up. Orange light on power supply. No extention cord, changed wall plug, bought new power supply, removed face plate and nothing changed.

Have a look into the usb ports on the front right of the console, look for any damage or bent pins, if any pins are touching this will cause a short, so the console will not turn on.
Or it could be an internal resistor problem, which would be best looked at by a pro repair center.

Hello, trying to help repair an xbox 360 with no power. While I know the power supply is good! On n off switch is good! Tried pressing eject button but still know power! Power supply light is orange. Do...

This sounds like it could be one of the usb ports, unplug the console and remove the faceplate, see if there is a bent pin, this will short out the console, just stop them touching the console will work.
Let me know if this helps.

My Xbox 360 won't turn on. When I plug the power cable into the wall, the orange light on the power brick lights up as normal, but if you plug the other end into the Xbox, the orange light starts blinking....

Sounds like a bad power supply, or on two occasions I have found that one of the USB ports had a bent pin which was shorted to the metal housing, which wouldn't let the unit power on. So check all of the USB ports

Xbox 360 won't turn on

I had this problem. Make sure the pins in the USB ports (2 on the front and 1 on the back of the console) aren't bent and there's nothing obstructing them. I unbent some of the metal inside these ports, and voila! I have a working xbox.
