Question about Arris SURFboard SB5120 Modem
Initially I hooked up my modem through the USB port on the back. Now that I want to set up a network, I need to use the ehternet port, and when i tried to do so, it could not detect any PC activity at all. The LED lights still read Power, Recieve, Send, and Online, but no PC?ACTIVITY.
I managed to fix the problem manually using a computer kit I had.
The problem was the Ethernet port on the modem was messed up
you should check if the small wires are on the back are all facing towards the top if not you should try to fix its actually pretty easy
no need to pay for a repair :D

I am having the same problem! ... I called Motorola today and explained my problem and told him everything I had checked through troubleshooting. The fact that I could get reception through the USB cable port but not the Ethernet port, told them that I may have a bad Ethernet port on my modem. They have a two year waranty that will cover replacing the modem. They just need the serial number listed on the bottom. Mine is older so I will be looking into repairing the port or replacing the modem myself. If that doesn't fix it, it will be back to the ole' drawing board. Any suggestions would be great!
I am also using a Belkin router and all of my drivers are up to date.
