Does the power turns off when the laptop adapter is plugged into Electricity? If it turns off while adapter is plugged the I doubt it the fault is from the battery. To be sure, remove the battery, then turn it on with the adapter and observe what happens. If it turns off, then its not a battery fault and if it does not, then the battery is faulty.

Also be sure about the system fan.

Please I will love to have a feedback.

Best wishes.

It could be infected under your husbands name. I have known viruses to switch pc on and off. Try a program called spybot search and destroy. Its free and really good. Make sure you get the name right as there are other programs with simaliar names. Set the program up install update and set for indept scan. Be warned it takes ages to do but very good. Let me know how you get on....Hope this helps...

When a computer shuts down by itself and will not start up again straight away, until it has cooled down. Then this is an overheating problem.
This is caused by a faulty fan and/or the fan and heat-sink assembly is clogged with dust.
If the computer is not on a flat surface then the vents may not have clear for good ventilation.
Check the fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
Clean and vacuum the dust from the fan and heat-sink assembly.

Laptop just keeps shutting down and won't turn on

it may be one of the causes, but the main reason for it is the power supply keeps on fluctuating. You may call Acer for a possible replacement for it..

Hi, i have an acer aspire 5315 icl 50 - when i turn the power on it just dies for no reason after just a couple of seconds?

Perform a simple test: release its battery pack and try to run on the mains power supply only. If it works, your battery pack has reached its end of life. In this case, buy a new one.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.

I've had my acer aspire (5315) laptop for over 2 years

Hello,

Sometimes, the CPU heat sink fan might get clogged up or faulty or stop spinning entirely. Make sure that the fan can turn properly.

IF YOU CAN, open the unit when the battery is disconnected and the power is not connected, then reseat the CPU Heat sink and re-apply a eye drop heat sink thermal paste onto the CPU. Reconnect and tighten everything again properly and adhere to the sequence in turning the screws back as per their numbering on the heat-sink

If the FAN has trouble spinning, doesn't turn at all or is noisy and runs irregular please replace the fan. The fan alone should cost about a few US $.

Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook will not power on

disconnect the battery from the laptop and only hook up the ac adaptor. Turn the laptop on and if it still cuts off after 5 seconds then reseat the memory back into its slots. Also make sure your air vents are not clogged with dirt or dust as lack or air flow can cause the laptop to shut off. If that doesn't do it then take out the hard drive and dvd drive and turn on the laptop. If the laptop still cuts off then it has to be a faulty motherboard at that point which means to much voltage is going thru and the components on the motherboard are not regulating it properly.
