Hi Walter,

If the headphone jack is loose you can try to use the USB headset (If there is one) or Bluetooth.
If you wanna fix the headphone jack yourself you can find a very good step by step guide here.
The repair service will take about anything from 40$-60$ to repair it.

Good Luck!

Speakers won't work after I use headphones

This more about what you are connecting the speakers to.
The headphone jack is essentially a switch that mechaniccally opens the ground connection to the speakers. It is a spring that is opened by the headphone jack pushing the spring contact open. What often happens is the headphone plug gets pulled at an angle and forces the clip to be open permanently.
Sometimes the jack can be removed and replaced. Take the music source to a repair shop.

Your inner jack could be jacked jack LOL . No really sometimes the inner connection gets loose or the connection to the headphone jack port not making good contact might need replaced if you know that your head phones themself work fine!

Your jack is probably loose, the only solution is to reconnect, or solder it.

Headphone jack loose?broken?

You need a new one not worth fixing
how old is it when did it stop working
if you just bought it then
you need to return it and have it exchanged
there obviuosly is a defect.

Hello, The IR cable has a purple color at the end of the connection.
On the back of the Tivo, It should be marked IR.
Looks like a headphone jack type.

Ipod Headphone jack is damaged

Hey mas2514,

If the headphone jack of your iPod is no longer functioning, it can sometimes be repaired or replaced. The cost to repair or replace the headphone jack does vary depending on the iPod model, and if the product is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty or some kind of third-party coverage (such as the Best Buy Performance Service Plan, or PSP).

If you are unsure what kind of coverage your iPod currently has, I would first suggest contacting Apple directly for technical support or speaking with a Geek Squad® agent at your local Best Buy™ store for further assistance. Either of these parties should be able to provide you with a detailed diagnostic, as well as an estimate for repairs if you no longer have any kind of warranty or service plan coverage on the unit.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Nano shows song playing but nothing happens

Make sure your headphones are working properly by testing with your computer headphone jack.

Is the headphone port on the Nano loose?

Connect the Nano to your iPod dock and see if you can head audio through the docks headphone jack.

If the headphones work, and you can get audio out of the dock headphone port, then there is a problem with your Nanos headphone jack.

Speaker Doesn't Work

If you use a plug in set of headphones often, you have probably caused the contacts to spread apart inside permanently. The only solution (if that is the case) is to replace the headphone jack, or to (for the brave) attempt to insert a pin inside the jack and open the contacts so they are not pressed against the outside of the jack assembly.
