According to the manual:
My Music is also the default directory your
phone creates in your memory card (sold
separately) when you insert it into your phone the
first time. With the default My musc directory
created in your memory card, you can insert the
card into a PC card reader (sold separately) to
load your desired music and insert the card back
into the phone to play it.

So if you haven't done so. I would format the card with the phone. Here is a link to the manual where you find the specific directions on how to format it on page 68, on your phone it is located in the tool and settings menu on your phone under memory card:

If you need any further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
lee

No music files found in my music player

First, you have to put some music files in memory card using a card reader or using data cable.
Then you need to update media library to see the music files. DO the following:
1. open music player 2. Select Option 3. Click Media Library 4. Again go to option and select Update Library
You will see all your music files in music player.

I can't open my music player in nokia 5130. phone system say me `not enoug memory but my phone memory is empty'.

Possible that the phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone still does not open the music player then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

I have a UTStarcom Shuttle. I am trying to play to play music

Put a microSD memory card (limit 4GB) in the phone. Take a few pictures and make a short video .Use the phone menu to transfer the pictures an video to the external memory card. Use the media player to watch your recorded video. Try to play music and you will get a no content found message. Now, turn off the phone, remove the memory card and place it into an adapter that will connect to a computer by usb port. Windows should recognize it as a removable drive. If you look at that drive in Explorer you will see 3 folders. Pictures are in my_pix. Videos are in my_flix. Transfer .mp3 files to the my_music folder. When you put the card back into the phone you can play the mp3 files with the media player. Yes, I did this and it works.

Cant transfer music files from card to phone or find them.

I had the same problem and realised that you have to copy the file from the music section on your external memory to the sounds section. Firstly I sent an album to my memory card via windows media player and it went to the music section. My phone recongnised it was there on the external memory but not when I tried to play it through the mp3. I read an earlier message and it mentioned that the music needs to go into the sounds file so I copied it to that file and hey presto, I have music on my external memory that actually plays lol

Put music on card mp3 player i880 phone

You can use Windows Media Player's "Sync" function to transfer music from your music library to your phone, but you need a data cable to connect the phone to your computer, or you can use a USB memory card reader that allows the computer to see the memory card as if it were another drive. NOTE: The i880 can ONLY play music files in an .mp3 format; if they are in ANY other format, they will not even show up on the song list on the phone.

Samsung t629 memord card problem. PLEASE HELP!

ok, I have managed to use my sandisk 512mb card to put on music...even though I didnt know you had to format the disk in phone first (I dont recommend because all my music is individual clips and not in my music file), however once you see that the music is on the card via "my files" I went to the music player and hit options...then hit "add music from" then hit "memory card"...now you must put a check mark by all the music files you want to add to the music player (or choose "all" and hit ok) This will put your chosen songs off your card into the music player and you can see the song title at the top of your player screen and use the arrows to move through your songs/clips. Choose the song and hit play.
