assuming you properly installed the "printer driver".
disconnect the printer.
check Printer & Faxes for printer icon(s) - delete print queue(s) and the printer icon(s).
open device manager and go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers section.
now we check for connectivity: (treat the printer and scanner as separate devices)
connect the printer, USB Printing support must show up (also check Imaging Devices and the scanner must also show up)
IF USB Printing support shows, windows will create a printer icon in the Printers & Faxes, right click choose properties and print a test page.
ELSE, it's the printer and request for a replacement if it is still within 1 year from the date of purchase

SOURCE: Printing Yellow instead of Red
The colours in the 3 colour cartridges are cyan, magenta and yellow. If you want to print "red", this requires a mixture of magenta and yellow. Thus if only yellow is printed when you should be printing red, it means the magenta is not printing i.e. faulty/empty magenta cartridge or faulty/blocked magenta nozzles.

update your windows installer ... v3.1 and uninstall everything related to your printer e.g. drivers, any software, disable the unit in hardware devices (control panel) download the latest driver directly from Epson

I have the same problem...Epson does not work with a parallel to usb cable or adapter. If you still want to use this printer you will have to use the parallel port or change the interface on the printer to USB.
