Question about Dryers

Whirlpool Duet Dryer getting very hot, tripping breaker

Our Duet dryer is about 6 months old. We have it stacked on the washer. Recently, it has started tripping the circuit breaker. We've noticed that the right side of the dryer is getting incredibly hot, the left side feels what we consider to be normal. Running on low heat seems to not be a problem. Warm or hot definately trip the breaker.

We've had a repair man out that after checking airflow and various other things said we'd have to use a wet vent (?) or vent the dryer straight out the back to the outside. Told us not to run it down, under the house and then outside. The manual says we can vent out up to 26 feet in length, we were definately under 10. However, even with no vent pipe attached, the dryer is still getting insanely hot and tripping the circuit breaker. Repair man was to come by again today but didn't make it by. Either he was busy or stumped.

Any suggestions????

What size is your breaker how many amps it should say on breaker are you cleaning the lint screen with it on top if the drier is getting too hot there is a device in it that's called a thermal limiter that would blow before the breaker would trip what kind or you in a house or apt. now on high heat can you hold your hand on the side of the drier.or cant touch it look at the vent under your house and tell me 1is it hanging down under the house then coming up to the hood 2whats its diameter3whats it made of we will go from there ok.there are three thermostats in that drier the first one runs at about 150 160 max second is a safety in case the first one fails it cycles at about 250 third is a safety if the drier exceeds 300 it will shut the heater down and wont rest it has to be replaced

Whirlpool frontload dryer trips circuit when started all of the sudden. Gas dryer, replaced circuit, must be dryer

The dryer should be on a dedicated circuit. Is anything else on the same circuit? Try plugging the dryer into a different circuit and see if it still trips the breaker. The breaker trips because there is either a short or too much power is being drawn for the size of the circuit. Check how many amps the dryer uses, and make sure the circuit is rated for that load. If the dryer needs a 20 amp circuit, and the circuit it is plugged into is only a 15 amp circuit, that will trip the breaker.
If all that is good, there is a problem with the dryer, either a short or the motor is drawing too much power, which usually means it is at the end of it's useful life and need to be replaced. If you are handy, there are sites you can go to which will show how to remove the motor. There are appliance parts stores which will test your motor, and sell you a new one if you need one. I have a 30 year old dryer that still runs, with it's 4th motor and 5th belt, if you are handy. The cost of a repairman to come out is probably not worth it after the dryer is about 10 years old, better to replace the dryer at that point. The new ones are much more energy efficient and do a better job than the older equipment, so they are worth the investment.

My whirlpool duet is not is not getting hot. It appears to be drying but it is not getting hot. I have to run the dryer multiple cycles.

Check for crimp in your vent line, Check your breaker. It is a dual breaker if one side pops it will run with no heat. Check those first.

Dryer want dry or heat up

Make sure front of dryer is not blocked, air flow is needed to dry.Check that the lint filter and exhaust duct is clean.

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat. Alternatively, the dryer may heat, but it may not heat up as hot as it should. Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.
Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Brand New Whirlpool Duet 9450 Error Code PF

This is a problem I've seen before, or something similar. I think you've got a bad connection on the neutral wire. Either in the plug or at the panel. Have electrician check the neutral wire back to the panel from the plug.

Whirlpool Imperial Electric Dryer wont heat up

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Dyrer wont turn on at all whirlpool duet front dryer??

Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

If all checks out OK above, replace the control or, timer module.

Duet dryer dead

A tell tale sign of a failed control panel. Irregardless of brand, Dryer usually has a 1-year part and 1-year labor warranty. Pull out your proof of purchase (POP) and go to the manufacturer's website to find a servicer near your area (usually search by zip code or miles radius). Call the recommended servicer in your area and provided them with POP when asked. Repair turn-around time is usually 4-6 business days. A trip to the laundromat or installing a clothesline... take your pick :-)

Best Regards.
