In messenger in the main window goto Messenger / Preferences then Video & Voice. Make sure in the drop down box your camera is listed and also make sure the box in same window which says "allow USB devices to access messenger" is ticked. If still no luck test your camera on another application such as MSN or Skype. Cheers from Scott............might catch ya on yahoo sometime

HI,

This type of issue is usually solved by reinstalling the particular software which is giving the network error.

Please reinstall the yahoo messenger and let me know if you still face the same problem or not.

Thank you for using fixya.

Your computer is not connected to the network when cam talk

In order to use the video call feature both parties have to be in Yahoo Messenger 10.
If you both have Yahoo you can use the webcam
If you are cross chatting - eg Messenger X MSN, only basic IM will be available

Hi, my friend is trying to view my webcam...but she is getting an error message saying "a network error occured while connecting to the server"

thats a generic problem with yahoo messenger when the server is bussy it gives this error. If your friend is using dial up this is the biggest prob. She will have to get a faster connection. Meanwhile I'd suggest her to download the latest version 9.0.0.2162
Kindly rate my solution.

Messenger error 81003005

Hi,

here are some causes: Firstly; this error occurs when your connection preferences are not properly set. I'm not talking about your Yahoo! ID and Password here, but you may need to adjust certain features depending on what network you're on. Let's says for example, if a firewall protects your network, it may block yahoo messenger when it tries to connect to the server. You need to change your connection settings, click the Messenger menu in yahoo messenger and select Connection Preferences. Select Firewall With No Proxies. Select your Internet Connection type from the pull-down menu at the bottom and enter your Home Country if the adoptions aren?t grayed out. Click OK and login again using the new settings. If this option doesn?t work, click Connection Preferences in Yahoo! Messenger again and select No Network Detection. Try to login again using the new settings. In some instances, you may need to provide yahoo messenger with the IP address of your firewall or proxy server (you can get this information from your network administrator or from your Internet service provider). Click Messenger and select Connection Preferences again. Select Use Proxies. Enable either the HTTP Proxy or the SOCKS Proxy as needed and provide the proper address. Click OK and login again using the new settings.Secondly; if you are using IM9 there are sign in problems. This is what yahoo has to say. Try an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0(9.0.0.2128). This latest build includes a fix for the sign-in issues that have been affecting some users. If you were seeing an error code?81003005? when trying to sign in, this latest version may fix that problem. Even if you were experiencing a different kind of sign-in issue, I recommend installing this latest version. Hope it was helpful!

Thanks.

Connection problem 81003004

To solve this kind of network connection in your yahoo messenger, just click on your yahoo messenger, select the connection preferences in the menu and then select the proxy server as the connection preference other than the internet one. then select from either the dial-up, broadband or the high speed t1 lan connection. it's up to you how you connect.
it works for me. hope this can help you.

cheers,
argion
