Download audio book

I have downloaded an audiobook to Library A. I know it was successful because I can plug the V100 into my computer's USB port and listen to the audiobook just fine. However, when I unplug it and try to play the audiobook thru the V100 with earphones, no files appear! I cannot find the audiobook file anywhere.

Re: Download audio book

Likewise, I stumbled onto the answer to my own question. And yes, the icons are very confusing. You find your audiobook by scrolling thru the FOLDERS icon, and then push the switch IN. It will take several tries, but have's there.

Re: Download audio book

I bought a MuVo V100 specifically because a sister uses it very successfully for audio books. I'm still learning because it doesn't seem easy to do, but she managed fine. So don't assume it won't work for books.

The icons are confusing to deal with but the book will be in the "folders." When you find Library A, you push the button thing IN. Then you scroll sideways until your title comes up.

I've done it myself but kind of accidentally. Can't do it twice the same way!

Downloading audio books onto a Sony MP3 player.

MP3 players can only play music and audio books files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :-

I recently purchased a Sansa Clip MP3. I downloaded audiobooks to it but they will not play. What do I need to do?

Not true!!! The Sansa Clip is actually the best mp3 player I have found for listing to audiobooks. Here is what you need to do. Download the latest firmware update on the Sandisk website. You must do this or it just won't work unless you are downloading books from Audible.

I use the Overdrive Media Console and download mp3 and WMA books from my state library. When you hit transfer, be sure it hit advanced options. Browse until you select the audiobook folder on your player. Then transfer to that.

The player will bookmark your last place on anything that is in your audiobook folder. You can easily switch back and forth between your music and book without losing your place! Love it!

It even has a sleep timer on it. I'm in heaven.

I have Audio books that I want to put on my mp3 player, but I dont know how to get it to sync to my device and go into the Audiobooks instead of Music

First download the driver from your player's manufacture's site. It will be under download tab or support tab.
Download and install driver, then restart pc

Then turn on device, then plug into pc, then go to my computer, then you should see your device there. Double-click on the device folder. Now you can see and will have access to all folders.
You can leave this page up, then go to the page & file that your book is on. click, hold, and then drag this file over to the audio book folder and release the button, it will transfer the book to the mp3 player audio book file.
You can also use windows media player 11 and sync your mp3 player to your windows media player and create a playlist or library and transfer them onto mp3 player as well

I report a solution from Portable player FAQ, let me know if it works:
1. Delete the title in the Overdrive Media Console program.
2. Then log into the Audiobook site at and click on My Account, My eItems Checked Out, and click the Download button the website to re-download the book.
3. Transfer the newly downloaded parts to your player.

Fast forwarding for listening to books

I use a Creative Zen V Plus, but have a similar problem.

First, an explanation: the issue is probably with the timecode in the audio track. This can happen when the audio file is created on a computer. The audiobook was likely "ripped" to a file from the original audiobook CD, and your player may not like the format the file is in. The best solution in this case is to recreate the audio files yourself. First remove all of the files from your Sansa for that particular book. Then use CD-burning software on your computer to create an audio CD (not a data CD!) from the files you got from the library. Finally, use the software that came with your Sansa to transfer the audio CD back to your Sansa. This way you know you are getting a correct format on your player.

If you have an additional issue (like me) where the tracks are too long and go back to the beginning every time you turn your player off, you may have to use an audio editor such as Audacity to chop the long tracks up into smaller tracks, but this is quite time consuming. It is best to acquire audiobooks in smaller tracks in the first place. This is the problem I have been faced with while using to listen to audiobooks.

Audio book download

The RCA Opal supports Audible audiobook downloads almost exclusively. You can transfer audiobooks that are in mp3 or wma format, but they will not play like regular audiobooks - they will play as one continuous file. I would use Windows Media Player to transfer the audiobooks to the player, but you can drag and drop using Windows Explorer also.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription?

Go ahead and hook your mp3 player up to the PC and hit the sync tab in Windows Media Player. Disconnect it safely and try playing one more time. If that fails, remove the audiobooks completely from the Sansa and reload them.

You might also want to double-check Sansa's website - it seems that one of their firmware upgrades related to Audiobook play.

Sansa Clip Audiobook Question

Once I downloaded the newest firmware the audiobooks folder started showing up in the windows file explorer. So now I don't have to worry about using media player or anything else. I just plug in my sansa clip, open windows file explorer and drag the folders (1 for each disk) onto my player (into the audiobooks folder).

Here's the link for the download. If it doesn't come up you might want to reformat your sansa clip.
