Replace the cart. if that does nto work you got a bad print head as its not reading correctly if the cart is aligned witch will send a bad signal to the PCM printer control module to align the cart. please try a replacement if that does nto work replace the print head at that point.

thanks and please do leave postive feedback for your free aolution today.

Why after installing new ink cartridges, the system says to realign scanner. never saw this before.

Realignment procedure is typical when replacing ink cartridges. It is a pretty straight-forward process and takes only a few moments. Most printers provided detailed instructions on the alignment page it prints - otherwise Google your printer for instructions. Alignment ensures that there are no gaps or white lines in text or images.

My printer is missing several lines each time

generally speaking this is a cartridge problem - some nozzles are clogged - U need to find tools in the printer menu then find clean printhead and run the process and print the test page or print quality page. and keep doing it 2 or 3 times untill the quality is OK - If still no good after all of this U can try soaking the printhead in 1/4" of warm water for 15 minutes and try again - if you are using original HP cartridges you are pretty much done at this point - if you are using refilled or aftermarket cartridges try replacing the black cartridge (I am assuming this is giving you the problem described) with a new HP (buy the small one just in case it still doesnt work) oif you have a cartridge refill place nearby U cant check and see if they can physically clean the printhead for you but results are not always good

What causes letters to fade 3 inches in from the left margin, in a vertical line down the page, and how can I fix it?

Does this happen when copying or printing or both? If both then likley you have a defective cartridge, or something in the printer is blocking the scanner. Try gently shaking the cartridge to see if that helps. If it does, then either the toner is clumping or the cartridge is getting empty. If this only happens when making copies then probably the scanner glass is dirty.

Have just installed a new black ink cartridge. message tells me to realign the print head How do I do that?

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.

When I turn on my printer I get a constant orange ink light, although I have replaced my printer cartridges with epson replacements !

Depending on the model, you may need to replace the printhead(s) as well. If there is no error message on screen, remove all cartridges and printheads then re-seat them into the printer again. The printer should run through a cycle like you installed new cartridges, and then should display a message with instructions (or not, if maybe it didn't realize you have replaced the cartridges from the last time).

Printer will not print it will say error 50c

Hi there Error 50c
Ok try this.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.
