Question about Dell Optiplex GX280 (99301) Motherboard

1 Answer

3870x2 support? Does this motherboard support this gpu ?cuz I tryed and it doesn't output anything... The gpu is recognised by device manager but it does not out put anything and the inboard video will only work. I got A08 bios and before with the a04 I got a message saying that the pci e couldn't start. I dunno what to so anymore plus my gpu is out of warranty cuz I sold a friend had it working so I think it could be my mobo. Btw I am running Windows 7 RC build 7100 and a ati 4350 works in it so my pcie port should work.

Dualgraphics

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_FM1/F1A75M_LE/#specifications

To enable crossfire, you must have 2 identical graphic cards.

The onboard graphic can`t be used with the hd6670.

This means that you must buy another hd6670 to add on the mainboard.

The graphic cards homepage:

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/EAH6670DI1GD3/

AMD CrossFire technology is the ultimate multi-GPU performance gaming platform. Unlocking game-dominating power, AMD CrossFire harnesses the power of two or more discrete graphics cards working in parallel to dramatically improve gaming performance.

You also need a large power supply min. 500 watt to have enough power.

Please disable the onboard graphic in the device manager.

Good luck

GPU hardware not recognised

Hello the homepage is here:

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=583#dl

Try to download a manual if you don`t have it.
If any drivers for the mainboard is missing install them.

Install the newest NVIDIA graphic driver from here:

http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/49949

This is the 64 bit version.

Check also if the graphic card is properly insertet
in the slot on the mainboard.
And the graphic card has to support PCI-E X16
This graphic card needs extenal power
from the power supply to work
the power supply has a wire with pci-e stamped in did you connect this ???.

Try to disable the onboard graphic in the device manager.

Good luck

3rd USB Port doesn't work and "no audio output device is installed" in Vista 32-bit

The USB port is damaged, or missing the driver for that port, check device manager.

I recently bought a brand new Wildcat Realizm 200 and I would like to flash the GPU BIOS to the latest version. How should I go about doing that?

the GPU doesn't have a BIOS. BIOS stands for Basic Input / Output System. It's what your computer hardware looks at right after the POST. (Power-On Self-Test). Flashing the BIOS can be risky, if there is a power outage while it's updating or doesn't completely update your motherboard will be useless. I highly do not recommend flashing the BIOS. What I would do is update the driver. Keep in mind that only certain graphics cards work on certain machines. Intel CPUs only work with Nvidia GPUs. and AMD CPUs only work with AMD cards. It's hard to pinpoint your problem because I'm not looking at the computer.

DVD wont recognise disc

If your DVD drive don't show up in device manager and if there's no yellow exclamation mark in device manager, try to check IDE or SATA cable connection from your DVD drive to the motherboard. Also check the cable itself (are the wires inside broken?)

3870x2 GPU issue

Hi there,

I read your other comment posted on the other topic, and yes I have to agree, I think your GPU has blown.

I write this, because I had the same problem about a year ago. The power switch on my old tower case had broken, so I bought a new one. Swapped everything over, turned it on, and, wham! Everytime I tried to boot, I got either the Blue Screen Of Death, or nothing. I tried everything. I swapped my GPU, as I had a spare one, but the still nothing. So I thought I had blown Mobo. Bought a new one, but still the same. In the end I gave up and paid for an egineer to have a look.

Basically, when I swapped cases, I blew the Mobo (and I'm a systems builder, lol), this in-turn blew my GPU (which is why it didn't work on new Mobo). I replaced GPU on new board, and would you believe it, it worked.

Replace your GPU (but if you can, test with a spare one, just in case it's your Mobo that's blown).

Cost me a bomb, but I hope my mistake saves you money.

My gpu is causing my pc to crash and freeze before it even boots and somtimes it dosnt display any images is there anyway i can fix it and my gpu is a 3870x2

When this problem occur? this problem occur when you installed the driver of the video device? When you installed a software? or when you installed a new hardware?

if the problem occur when you installed the driver of the video device or when installing a new software, you need to boot in Safe Mode.
If the problem occur when you installed a new hardware you need to check the BIOS setting in IRQ, check if there is a conflict in the hardware...
If you use video card when that problem occur and you have onboard video device, take out the video card and use the onboard video and boot to windows and uninstall the software that cause the problem. if you use onboard video device try to put a video card and remove the software that cause the problem..

try to change the memory of your computer if you have extra with the same specs. If you don't have a memory reinstall your Operating System.

If you can't install windows and the computer keeps on hanging or restarting while installing, I think there is something wrong either one of the computer hardware, like the Memory, Processor, Motherboard, Hard Disk, and other interface devices. TY

HOPE I CAN HELP

Gpu working not getting monitor picture

Is there another type of video output on the card, like S-Video? It could be trying to use the other output as the primary rather than the regular VGA. If this is the case, use nvidia's display utility to manage which output should be the primary.
