Why is the thread a line on bottom of fabric?

Clean the bobbin case and all the parts under the plate. You may have a bent needle, so replace the needle. The bobbin case has a tiny point on it that catches the thread, that may be broken and missing the thread as it spins.

Singer 629 metal part at bottom won't spin around to pick up thread?

Most likely one or more of the gears that drive the hook have broken. If you are comfortable with taking the bottom cover off the machine you should be able to see the damaged parts. It is not a DIY repair because there is a timing gauge that is used in the repair and the timing needs to be exact or the machine will not make a stitch. Check with a sewing machine repair person you trust to look at it and give you an estimate for repair.

My singer 2010 sewing machine will not stitch. it has a cruchy noise when turning the wheel :( The bobbin wont catch with the needle under as well :( is it me doing something wrong or the machine?

Sounds like it could be a broken bottom or top gear, you would need to take the bottom and top off to check but don't touch any electronic parts

Hi, Have broken a gear on a Singer 527. The gear is in the middle of the shaft that drives the bobbin, and is there to drive another gear going to the foot feed cam. Can you help please with part number...

You can get the bottom gear very easily even on ebay or from most sewing machine shops, if you email me I can attach full instructions to retime but remind me of your model.

Hi, i went to go from sewing to filling a bobbin and it now wont go back to sewing, where you place the bobbin it wont stop spinning. After lifting the machine there was a tiny plastic part which was...

I think it can be the problem if the plastic part is broken. It can be fixed or bought if knowing the model number and can be found in Joans or any stores such as that.

The needle will move but bobbon wont spin

If the mechanism that the bobbin case it attached to doesn't move at all, you have a problem in the drive system of the machine. Either a screw has loosened in one of the gears or in the linkage to the bobbin area from the top of the machine. Unfortunately a trip to your service tech will be needed.

I have a Singer 6268 electronic machine (25 years plus. I was sewing and heard a loud crunch (thought I broke a needle but didn't) and part of fabric pulled downh through the needle plate. I changed pulled...

The nylon timing gear may have broken up or the top gear amy have broken up, you need to get into the top and have a lokk and also under the bobbin case area in the bottom of the machine, iof thge gears have broken you can buy the gears quite cheaply and fit them yourself, I do have full instructions to retime the machine.

Singer 2010

If model 2010, the problem is a part metal- part plastic part attached to the bottom of the bobbin winding lever, the white tear-shaped thing with the arrow on it. If that will turn past the center of the bobbin it's broken inside. to try a do-it-yourself fix, turn upside down, remove 4 screws, including one by the plug (which must be pulled out for safety anyway) remove bottom case. looking at left end of the works, move the bobbin lever and you'll see the broken part move. The plastic part should be broken about half-way down. You can see how the part should push the white plastic bobbin winding shaft up and down when lever moved. the part can be removed by loosening the 2 tiny hexnuts holding it on the metal shaft. you'll need the smallest size allen (hex) wrench there is. NOTE where the part is at bottom of the metal shaft for when you put have to put it back on. be careful to hold the bobbin winding shaft itself in place, but it's easy to see how it goes back in if it pops out. if the break is clean (like my wife's that I just fixed this way yesterday!) you can put a drop or 2 of good crazy glue in the break, making sure lined up on the sides, then clamp in a vise (or hold firmly together with pliers) for at least 10 mins, longer better. wait at least an hour before putting back. putting back on is a little tricky but you move the bobbin lever to left (open) position, make sure it's just on the end of the shaft (shaft barely protruding) and see where the part isn't pushing the bobbin winding shaft. re-tighten with hex wrench then see if the repaired part now pushes the bobbin winding shaft up and down when you move the lever back and forth. Turn back over and move the lever without a bobbin spool- you should see shaft move up in the middle of bobbin case where it will engage the bottom of the bobbin spool where the x is.
Now if part can't be fixed it is available from auth Singer service center in you state but runs $40 or so. they'll try to tell you they have to install it because of special anti-static gloves that wont fry your motherboard on the machine's computer, but the center in Michigan finally said they would mail it to me. hope this helps! funny I just saw this after fixing our machine which hadn't been used for a long time until I decided I might as well look inside if I was going to have to buy her a new machine!!!
