This could be that 1)Wireless card is loose from the slot it slides in 2)the card is bad and needs to be replaced. We can certainly replace it for you.

On my laptop aspire 5517 the light at the wireless switch does not come on and i cannot connect to the internet by wireless

most acer laptops are like that, you have to turn the wireless system via software, check for the device applications for the wireless device and it will help you whether it is connected or not.

if not,

reinstall the Operating system again.

I recently updated to Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 5500, everythinh works but my Wlan is not recognised it does not appear in my network devices and all the drivers I have downloaded do nothing? Any ideas?

Check in the BIOS to make sure it is enabled (press F2 repeatedly during startup), and make sure that the switch (mechanical) for it is on. (Page 10 of this manual; you may want to download and save it)(http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/manuals/acer/0000/userguides/AS3600%205500-ENG-OLM_0609.pdf)

The fact that Windows 7 does not see it is indicative that it is either powered off in the BIOS or shut off mechanically.
Good luck; if you are still having problems, repost and we'll see what we can do.

My Acer 5500 saying "No wireless device". I would like to connect to wireless connection

Access the manufacturer's web-site:

http://secure3.tx.acer.com/FindSystem/FindSystem.aspx?title=Information%20About%20Your%20System

and enter the serial-number of your computer, to see if the computer was shipped with a wireless-adapter.

If not, buy either a USB Wireless Adapter, or a PCMCIA Wireless Adapter, install the software that comes with the adapter, and then connect the device.

My loptop acer aspire 5502zwxci Ethernet Controller software and network controller software missing, also wire less not working and bluetooth aswell not working, how to solve this problem of my loptop

Have you disabled the wireless card?
Check to see if you have a switch/button that toggles your wireless devices. It might also be a keyboard combination like Fn+F9 or Alt+F?

Wireless not working

First, go to Windows security settings. I recently had a client with this exact problem, and it was her Windows firewall blocking the wireless adapter from "seeing" anything. If necessary, turn the firewall completely off to test.

Secondly, if that doesn't fix it, remove/uninstall the Wireless adapter completely from device manager. Reboot, let Windows attempt to reinstall the driver. If asked, point it to the driver files you've already installed. Reboot, and that should fix you up.

Let me know if this helps :)

WIRELESS INTERNET AT HOME WITH PROXIM NOT WORKING WITH Y VISTA

Make sure you enable the wireless card in device manager.
and also check the wireless card switch (switch it to enable/disable wireless card) on the front (close to headphone jack). If it isnot working, it's something wrong with your wireless card.
