So... I guess the fix for one of the windings in the stator being bad is to replace the motor? I have had the same problem and already replaced the motor once due to this problem and still having this problem with the new motor.. So I guess my next question is how likely is it to get 2 motors that have the same problem?

For what?
its just a motor.
do you need wiring assistance?
what is the model, code or serial number of the Emerson motor?
and... 1081 does not help!
That just means it's a 'Pool' motor casing.

Emerson pool spa pump leaking water-how to change gaskets

Emerson is not the name of the pump, that's the brand of the motor attached to the wet end, and the two together make a pump.
1081/1563 only means that it meets the standards for a pool motor.
provide make and model, for your pump.

What Emerson model, serial and or catalogue number do you have? 1081 is the basic and generic code indicating that it meets the standards for a pool motor, that's all.

I have an Emerson 1081 Pool pump motor. After 2+/- hours it overheats and shuts off. Suggessions?

How old is the motor? Is it operating louder than normal as it runs indicating a bad bearing? Have you or can you check the incoming line voltage to ensure it is correct? If it is a new motor have you made sure the motor is set to the correct incoming line voltage? Has anything in the plumbing changed recently?

Motor shuts off after 30 seconds looks like it is overheating

More than likely the motor is overheating or at least the thermal overload thinks it is. The thermal overload could be bad but if the motor has burnt windings then it probably is pulling too many amps which will cause the overload. Sounds like you need a service call or take the motor to a motor shop.

Hot tub pump stops and control panel says there is a flo problem

Yes a pump does have a thermal cut out. When the motor gets too hot the thermal cut out will activate and the pump won't restart until the motor has cooled.

If you were an electrician, or highly confident/competent with electrics, you could test the motor with a volt meter. Run the spa and as soon as the pump stops running, check the voltage at the pump. If there is voltage at the pump, then the thermal cut out on the motor has activated. Do not try checking this yourself if you're not competent to do so.

You could also do the same test at the spa pack if it's easier to do so, just locate the output to the pump.

What spa and which spa pack have you got?
