Unable to receive fax data, i have it on auto anwser and fax mode. sender only gets ringtone. land line is connected to fax mach. please advise.

Check video for 'fax receive set up' in similar model:


Manual receive: In coming call receives like telephone
Fax/tele: Incoming call rings like telephone if its not fax, if incoming is fax it will entered in fax mode automatically
Automatic: Incoming call converts in fax mode after ring count ends( ring to answer option also avail in fax set up mode rage 1-6 rings)
Fax: Incoming calls straight away converts in to fax mode.( this option only for dedicated fax lines)
Set up your best option as per your requirement.

Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility.

This problem could be Phone line problem, or hardware failure or receiver's (the machine of the person whom you are sending the fax) machine problem and so on. First, let's check the line, if you have another Phone line, please dial from the number to your number, also, connect the currently connected line to a receiver and call a Land-line number, if the outgoing or incoming is ok, the proceed forward, otherwise, you telephone operator should check the line.

Sometimes, sending fax to a particular number doesn't work, to make sure, try sending a fax to another number.

If the line which is connected to the machine is extended from another machine such as Receiver, Switch, etc... unplug them and connect the fax machine directly to the Line.

It's also important to adjust the compatibility mode, to do this, follow the steps below:
Press Menu. Press the up or down arrow key to select Fax. Press OK. Press the up or down arrow key to select Miscellaneous. Press OK. Press the up or down arrow key to select Compatibility. Press the left or right arrow key to select Basic (for VoIP). Press OK. Press Stop/Exit.

check the phone line is properly connected and you are getting dial tone and dialing facility from the phone line which is connectd to fax line.go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set.

If they changed you over to Vonage or some other digital service, the fax machine will not work reliably.

You need a plain old telephone system POTS for your fax. All faxes are analog.

Please make sure the machine is set for auto-receive in machine set up and make sure the phone cord is plugged into the line jack on the machine. If this machine is not on a dedicated phone line the machine (rings) should be set to pick up before the answering machine does.

if the fax is connected to the same line and you have a phone connected to the fax you need to make sure you connect the line from the socket at wall to the correct socket on the fax you can check this by looking at the point the line is connected on fax there should be two connectors one says line and one says tel.. the line in goes to the line socket and your telephone goes into the tel socket.. if you have them the other way round it cant connect properly..on the front display panel make sure you have it set to the auto setting or tel fax mode for receive.. if you have it to auto it will check the incoming call if it is a fax it will send it through if not it will ring till you answer.. if set to tel/fax mode when it rings you will have to answer the phone and manually press start if you hear it is a fax.. make sure phone line is pluged into line on fax,make sure fax is set auto.there should be a button on fax panel that say's receive mode.
